Die Outdoor-Kerzen von Engels sind an ihrem starken Docht mit grauem Gewebeanteil

Mit ihrem vitalen Flammenspiel und ihrer strahlenden

Plätzen. Finca-Kerzen gibt es nur von Engels. 

Large, imposing: Finca outdoor candles. They rivet 

your attention in an outdoor atmosphere. The vivacious 

play of the flames and powerful illumination 

make Finca candles a monumental object of light, 

setting accents of ambiance in gardens and parks, 

terraces, and in squares. Finca candles are manufactured 

solely by Engels Candle Manufacturers. 

Nebel oder leichter Regen machen ihr nichts aus, 

auch ein starker Wind lässt ihre Flamme nicht 

erlöschen. Auf Kälte und Frost reagiert sie 

allerdings empfindlich. Es können Risse entstehen. 

Bei Temperaturen über 35 Grad sollte die 

Outdoor-Kerze nicht angezündet werden. 

Weil die Kerzen in Handarbeit hergestellt werden, 

können sich kleine Abweichungen in Farbe und 

Form ergeben. 

Finca candles don’t mind mist, light rain, or even 

strong wind. However, they are quite sensitive to 

the cold and frost. They may develop cracks. 

Do not light this outdoor candle if the 

temperature is above 35 degrees. 

As each candle is made by hand, they 

may differ slightly in colour and shape.

Lassen Sie Kerzen mit mehreren Dochten nicht 

stundenlang durchbrennen. Wegen der erhöhten 

Hitzeentwicklung besteht ansonsten die Gefahr, 

dass sie ungleichmäßig abbrennen bzw. flüssiges 

Wachs ausbricht. 

Do not burn candles with several wicks for hours on 

end. The extreme build-up of heat may cause the 

candle to burn down unevenly or the fluid wax may 

overflow.

Es ist die klassische Kerze und eine der Visitenkarten der Kerzenmanufaktur 

Engels: die Kaminkerze im traditionellem Elfenbein 

mit hohem Glockenkopf und edel-matter Oberfläche. 

Gelackt gibt es sie in mehreren Größen und in fast allen aktuellen 

Farben. Das schöne Licht der ruhig und besonders lange 

brennenden Kerze verleiht jedem Raum eine besondere Stimmung. 

Auch, weil sie mit ihrer erhabenen Präsenz deutlich an 

Kerzen in Kirchen erinnert. 

Festlich und heiter 

Sie schafft eine Atmosphäre heiterer Festlichkeit: die Kaminkerze 

von Engels. Besonders gut kommt ihre Ausstrahlung im 

Ensemble zur Geltung. Die Kaminkerze aus bestem Ceresin 

überzeugt durch hochwertige Verarbeitung und optimale 

Brenneigenschaften. Das mineralische Wachs brennt sehr langsam

It is the most classical of candles and the figurehead at Engels 

Candle Manufacturers: the fireplace candle in traditional ivory, 

with a high bell-shaped head and fine matte-finished surface. 

The varnished candles are available in various sizes and in almost 

our entire range of colours. The beautiful light of this longburning 

candle with the steady flame brings a special ambiance 

to any room. Perhaps because its lofty presence is clearly reminiscent 

of church candles. 

Festive and Cheery 

It spreads an atmosphere of cheery festivity: Engels fireplace 

candle. Particularly radiant as an ensemble. The fireplace candle 

is made of the finest ceresin wax, is the product of quality 

craftsmanship, and has optimum burn properties. The mineralbased 

wax burns very slowly with a steady flame. Engels fireplace 

candles are colour coated.

Gelackte Kerzen 

Die Fertigung umfasst vier Schritte: Tauchen der 

Kerze, Auflegen der Lilie, erneutes Tauchen, 

Lackieren und Trocknen. 

Four steps are involved: dipping the candles, 

applying the lily, a second dipping, varnishing 

and drying. 

Mit viel Liebe und Aufwand werden die Lilien 

in Handarbeit aufgelegt. Mehr als 50 Stunden 

dauern Herstellung und Veredelung dieser 

Kerzen. 

The lilies are hand-crafted with much committment 

and attention to detail. It takes over 50 

hours to manufacture and add all the finishing 

touches to these candles.

Umgang mit 

Kerzen 

Um möglichst lange unbeschwerte Freude an Kerzen zu haben, 

sollten Sie einige Regeln beachten. Dabei versteht sich eigentlich 

vieles von selbst. 

Kerzen richtig aufstellen 

Kerzenhalter: Kerzen müssen gerade und fest aufgestellt 

werden, so dass sie nicht während des Abbrennens umkippen 

können. Kerzenleuchter oder Untersetzer sollten hitzefest und 

nicht entflammbar sein. 

Abstände: Kerzen vertragen es nicht, wenn sie zu dicht 

neben- oder untereinander brennen. Mindestens 15 cm Abstand 

einhalten. 

Zugluft vermeiden: Ansonsten beginnt die Kerze zu rußen, 

zu tropfen und einseitig abzubrennen. 

Kerzen beobachten 

Sicherheit: Brennende Kerzen nie unbeaufsichtigt lassen. 

Einseitiges Abbrennen: Einen brennenden Docht können 

sie vorsichtig zur Seite biegen, wenn die Kerze einseitig abbrennt. 

Einen erstarrten Docht nie biegen oder gar abbrechen. 

Rußabgabe: Eine brennende Kerze darf nur minimal rußen. 

Ansonsten sofort eingreifen und ggf. Zugluft abstellen, den 

Docht kürzen und notfalls die Flamme auslöschen. 

Kerzenrand und 

Brennteller 

Kerzenrand nicht beschädigen, sonst läuft das flüssige 

Wachs aus. Bleibt ein zu hoher Rand stehen, dann schneiden Sie 

ihn ab, solange er warm ist. 

Brennteller sauber halten. Streichholzreste, Dochtstücke oder 

sonstige Verunreinigungen gehören nicht in den Brennteller. 

Docht 

Dochtkrümmung: Der Docht ist so konstruiert, dass er während 

des Brennens zum Flammenrand hin gekrümmt bleibt, weil 

die Spitze so am besten verglüht. Beim Anzünden einer neuen 

Kerze kann man den Docht aufrichten. 

Dochtlänge: Die ideale Dochtlänge beträgt 10 bis 15 mm. 

Ein längerer Docht verursacht Ruß – kürzen Sie ihn vorsichtig mit 

einer (Docht-)Schere. Wenn die Flamme zu verkümmern droht, 

ist der Docht zu kurz. Dann können Sie die Flamme auslöschen 

und vorsichtig etwas flüssiges Wachs abgießen. 

Brenndauer, Auslöschen 

der Flamme 

Brenndauer: Dicke Kerzen sollten mindestens so lange brennen, 

bis der ganze Brennteller flüssig geworden ist. 

Flamme auslöschen: Docht in das flüssige Wachs tauchen 

und gleich wieder aufrichten.

For carefree use of your candles, you should abide by a few 

guidelines, even though most of them are self-evident. 

Setting up Candles 

Candle holders: Candles must be upright and firm, so that 

they do not tilt while they are burning. Candle holders and the 

surfaces you place them on must be heat proof and must not 

be inflammable. 

Distance: Candles do not burn well if they are grouped too 

closely together. They should be at least 15 cm apart. 

Avoid draughts: Otherwise candles give off soot, drip, or 

burn unevenly. 

Watch your Candles 

Safety: Never leave burning candles unattended. 

One-sided burning: Carefully bend the burning wick 

sideways if the candle is burning unevenly on one side. Never 

bend or break off a rigid wick. 

Soot: Burning candles should produce only a slight amount of 

soot. If candles soot, react immediately and close off draughts, 

trim the wick, or, if necessary, snuff out the flame. 

Candle Edge and 

Wax Pool 

Candle edge: Avoid damaging the edge of the candle, 

otherwise the fluid wax will drip. If the edge gets too high, trim 

it while it is still warm. 

Wax pools should be kept free of matches, wick trimmings, 

and other debris. 

Wick 

Bent wick: Wicks are made to bend towards the edge of 

the flame while they burn. That way the tip burns down best. 

You can straighten the wick when you light a candle for the first 

time. 

Wick length: The ideal wick length is 10 to 15 mm. Longer 

wicks soot – trim them carefully with a pair of (wick) scissors. If 

the flame dies down, the wick is too short. Snuff out the flame 

and carefully pour off some of the fluid wax. 

Burning Time, Snuffing Out 

the Flame 

Burning time: You should burn wide candles at least until 

the entire wax pool is fluid. 

Snuffing out the flame: Dip the wick into the fluid wax 

and straighten it up again.

innen und außen. Finca-Kerzen für den 

Außenbereich haben einen starken grauen 

Docht in der Mitte. Sie dürfen nur im 

Freien abgebrannt werden. 

So pflegen Sie Ihre 

Finca-Kerze 

>Stellen Sie die Kerze auf einen nicht zu 

kleinen Untersetzer. Wichtig ist, dass sie 

sehr gerade steht. 

>Nach dem ersten Anzünden Abb.1 soll 

die Kerze so lange brennen, bis sich ein 

gleichmäßiger, starker Rand gebildet 

hat. Abb.2 

>Sofern die Kerze zum Ablaufen neigt, 

Flamme sofort löschen. Brennt sie einseitig 

ab, Kerze einfach drehen. 

>Wird die Flamme Ihrer Finca-Kerze 

zu groß und /oder unruhig, wurde 

möglicherweise der Docht zu lang. 

Bitte kürzen Sie ihn. 

>Die Flamme löschen Sie am 

besten, indem Sie mit Hilfe 

eines Löffels den Docht mit 

flüssigem Wachs übergießen

How to Care for Your 

Finca Candles 

>Ensure that the plate under the candle is 

not too small and that the candle is 

upright. 

>The first time you light the candle Fig.1

>If the candle starts to drip, snuff out the 

flame immediately. If the candle burns 

on one side, just turn it around. 

>If the flame of your Finca candle is too 

high or flickers, the wick may be too 

long and needs to be trimmed. 

>The best way to snuff out the 

flame is to pour a spoonful of 

fluid wax over the wick Fig. 3 

>If the outside temperature is above 35 

degrees, do not light the candle. Protect 

the candles from the cold, frost, heat, 

and long periods of rain. They are quite 

sensitive to the cold and frost, and may 

develop cracks. 

>Only burn candles with thick wicks – 

Outdoor Fincas – outside. 

>Warning: Never leave burning 

candles unattended.
