Reduzieren Sie EMI-Probleme mit
Spread Spectrum
Cypress Semiconductor
bietet einen kleinen „Erste
Hilfe“ Koffer für EMI Probleme
an.
Dieser Koffer beinhaltet
zwei kleine Demo Boards
für die Spread Spectrum
Frequeny Timing Generator-Bausteine
W182 / W183
und je drei Muster dieser
ICs.
Der Einsatz der SST Technologie
ist ein sehr effektives
Mittel um EMI – Spitzen
zu reduzieren.
Mögliche Einsatzbereiche
solcher Schaltungen sind
beispielsweise Grafikkar-
ten, Motherboards, oder
MCU-Applikationen. Es
gibt viele Möglichkeiten, die
EMI zu reduzieren. Neben
konventionellen aber meist
aufwendigen und teuren
Methoden wie
Abschirmung, Filtern und
dem Einbringen von Masse-Ebenen
(ground planes)
bietet die hier beschriebene
Technik eine wirkungsvolle
und kostengünstige
Lösung des Problems.
Durch Modulation des Eingangstaktes
wird der Ausgangstakt
in einem schma-
len Band um das Eingangssignal
herum modifiziert.
Wie dies realisiert wird, ist
dem Blockschaltbild (Bild 1)
zu entnehmen.
Reduce EMI problems with Spread
Spectrum
Cypress Semiconductor
offers a small “first aid” kit
for EMI problems.
This box includes two small
demo boards for the Spread
Spectrum Frequency
Timing Generator components
W182 / W183 as well
as three samples of each of
these ICs.
By using the SST technology,
EMI peaks can be reduced
efficiently.
Circuits of this kind can for
example be applied in graphic
cards, motherboards
or MCU applications. There
are many possibilities to
reduce the EMI. Besides
conventional but often
complicated and expensive
methods, such as
shielding, filtering and adding
ground planes, the
technique described in this
text offers an effective and
economic solution to the
problem.
By modulating the input
clock, the output clock is
modified in a narrow band
around the input clock. The
following diagram (picture
1) shows how this specification
is implemented.
Please note that for both
components, the W183 as
Bild / Figure 2
well as the W180, the input
frequency equals the output
frequency.
The following diagrams
(picture 2) show how the
Spread Spectrum technology
