liberalism, socialism. agrarian protest<br />
politics. and nationalism will be consid-<br />
ered in their historical context. In<br />
particular, the course will address the<br />
issues <strong>of</strong> democracy and industrializa-<br />
tion in Canada and will examine closely<br />
the conflicting liberal, socialist and<br />
conservative notions <strong>of</strong> progress and<br />
