Jack Dale
Hurst
Jack Dale Hurst, Galena, MO,
was born March 29, 1943 in
Hoopeston, IL and departed this
life April 3, 2010, in his home, at
the age of 67.
Jack had lived in the area the
past 9 years coming from Fort
Lauderdale, FL. He was a retired
police officer and a U. S.
Army veteran.
Jack was preceded in death by
his parents and wife, Janis.
Survivors include: one sister,
Pat Wallen of Avon, IN and a
host of friends.
No services are planned. Cremation
was under the direction
of Stumpff Funeral Home-South,
Kimberling City.

MRS IRENE I
KING
Mrs. Irene I. King, age 81,
Clever, went home on Saturday,
April 10, 2010 after a short battle
with cancer. Irene was born
May 2, 1928 in Nixa, Missouri,
the daughter of Sam and Leona
(Pierce) McGinnis.
She was united in marriage to
J. Willard King on September
13, 1947.
Her parents, and a sister, Bessie
Cooper preceded Irene in
death.
She is survived by: her husband,
J. Willard King, of the home;
four children and their spouses,
Ginna Gayle and Randall Daum,
Clever, J.D. and Pam King, Billings,
Dean King, Springfield,
and Jan and Marvin Mitchell,
Sparta; ten grandchildren, 27
great grandchildren; five sisters
and their spouses, June King,
Clever, Rose Giles, Republic,
Maxine Hood, Clever, Janie and
Don Nash, Ozark, and Deanie
and Kenny Pearce, Ozark; two
brothers and their spouses, Buddy
and Judy McGinnis, Hurley,
and Tony and Linda McGinnis,
Nixa; and many nieces, nephews
and friends. A special thanks to
all of the staff at Sonshine Manor,
and many thank yous to the
four special ladies…you know
who you are.
Visitation will be from 6-8
p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010
at Meadors Funeral Home, in
Clever. Funeral services will
be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
at the Hurley Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Wise Hill
Cemetery, Clever. Family suggested
memorials could be made
to the Sonshine Manor in Republic.

Orr
Phyllis Orr, Aurora, MO,
daughter of Herman and Lorene
(Hicks) Cutbirth was born
March 8, 1949 in Stone County,
MO, and departed this life April
6, 2010 in Ozark Mountain Regional
Healthcare, Crane, MO,
at the age of 61.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident
of the area. She had worked at
Shepherd of Hills in Branson as
an entertainer and was a volunteer
for Oats.
Phyllis was preceded in death
by her parents; brothers, Edward
Cutbirth and Roy Cutbirth and
sister, Reba Smith.
Survivors include: two sons,
Denny (Sheila) Stults and Danny
(Karol) Stults; one daughter,
Rhonda (Jay) Hobbs; five brothers,
Ronnie (Ruth) Cutbirth, Herman
Lee (Vicki) Cutbirth, Lewis
(Beverly) Cutbirth, Terry (Annette)
Cutbirth and Cecil (Karen)
Cutbirth; three sisters, Kay
Jones, Kathy (Roy) Hopkins and
Mary Jane (Bruce) Richardson; 8
grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren
and a host of other relatives
and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to
8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral
home.
No services are planned. Cremation,
following the visitation,
will be under the direction
of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral
Home, Crane.

Robert Hardin Smith, Branson
West, MO, son of Norman
and Nancy (Hardin) Smith
was born February 19, 1959 in
Prescott, AR and departed this
life April 8, 2010, in his home, at
the age of 51.
Robert had lived in the area
the past 9 years coming from Little
Rock, AR and had worked as
an attorney. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Kimberling
City.
Robert was preceded in death
by his father and son, Brandon
Keith Smith.
Survivors include: his mother,
Nancy Smith of Yellville, AR;
wife, Stephanie of the home;
son, Stephen Taylor Smith of the
home; daughter, Toni J. Talley of
Branson West; two sisters, Melanie
Gray of Mountain Home, AR
and Stephanie Vowell of Benton,
AR; 4 grandchildren and a host
of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be
held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April
13, 2010 at the First Baptist
Church of Kimberling City with
Jim Evans and James Talley officiating
under the direction of
Stumpff Funeral Home-South,
Kimberling City.
The family has requested in
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
to Arkansas Children’s
Hospital or Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Thomas John Weyers, Kimberling

was born June 8, 1922 in Chicago,
IL and departed this life April
10, 2010, in Ozark Mountain Regional
Healthcare, Crane, MO, at
the age of 87.
Thomas was united in marriage
to Mary Helen Spahn on
December 28, 1944 and they had
made their home in the area the
past 9 years coming from Central
Point, OR. He was a retired
telephone and teletype repairman.
Thomas served in the U. S.
Navy as a Fire Controlman from
1941-1945. He was a member of
Our Lady of the Cove Catholic
Church.
Thomas was preceded in death
by his parents; son, Mark Kevin
Weyers and daughter, Suzanne
Weyers.
Survivors include: his wife,
Mary of Kimberling City; four
sons, Timothy F. Weyers of
Kimberling City, Terry Weyers
of Shady Cove, OR, Michael
Thomas Weyers of Gold Hill,

Catholic Church, Kimberling
City with Father Joseph Liem
officiating under the direction of
Stumpff Funeral Home-South,
Kimberling City.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to
8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral
home, with a rosary at 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family
has requested memorial contributions
to St. Jude Children’s
Hospital.

Mildred Larene Johnson, 82,
Galena, Missouri was born May
27, 1927 in Stone County, Missouri
to J H and Susie Rutledge
Jones and departed this life April
10, 2010 in her home.
Mildred had been a life long
resident of the area. She was a
loving mother who enjoyed quilting
and canning. Mildred had
been married to George Johnson
and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters,
Nadine Moore and Irene
Clifton both of Galena and Susie
Jett of Cassville, Missouri;
five sons, Johnny Johnson, Dean
Johnson, Henry Johnson, Lloyd
