CLAssIC BOAT REGATTA
Celebrate Singapore’s National Day on the water
with the Classic Boat Regatta! The annual event
is open to all sailing yachts built in the spirit
of tradition and along classic design lines. Let’s
come together to commemorate our country’s
birthday and look towards a bright future. For
some fun, this year’s theme is Captain Ron &
Long John Silver. Be sure to dress up or mimic
the characters in the most creative manner.
Date: Thursday, 9 August
Fees: $53.50 per boat / $21.40 per crew
Closing Date: 3 August
kELONG VIsIT
Due to the popularity of our March outing,
we’ve decided to make another trip to a Kelong.
This time, we travel a little further to Mersing,
Johor, where a quaint kelong stands amidst the
grandiose of the South China Sea. Not only will
participants get to step onto a real floating fish
and lobster farm, they will also experience a
2-night stay on the kelong. Be lulled to sleep by
rhythmic ocean waves, wake up to the scent of
fresh saltwater air and get to do some fishing.
You can even cook your catch of the day with
a gorgeous sunset as your backdrop.
Dates: Friday to Sunday, 17 - 19 August

CRUIsE TO NONGsA

Take advantage of the long Hari Raya weekend
and embark on a cruise to the neighbouring
island of Batam where we will visit Nongsa
Point Marina & Resort. Tranquil, picture-perfect
beaches with lush green surroundings make it
a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle
of Singapore.
Dates: Saturday to Monday, 18 - 20 August

PEsTA sUkAN kEELBOAT REGATTA
Held in conjunction with Raffles Marina’s 18th
Anniversary, the annual SSF (Singapore Sailing
Federation) event attracts a diverse fleet of eight
different classes including Optimist, Byte, Laser, Laser
Radial, 420, Hobie 16, Windsurfing and Keelboat.
Day One of the regatta is the famous early morning
(7am!) race to Pisang Island and back. Day Two will
be a “round-the-cans” format off the club. Open to
all keelboats.
Dates: Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 September
Fees: $21.40 per crew
Closing Date: 24 August
FRIENdLY POOL ChALLENGE
Raymond Ceulemans, Minnesota Fats, Willie Hoppe,
Walter Albert Lindrum…What do these guys have
in common? They are all famous pool players. Some
of our club’s very own pool players aspire to be like
them and are emulating their favourite moves. The
popularity of the game has seen us staging regular
tournaments for our members and guests. Even
those who started out as newbies are getting the
hang of the lingo and picking up some nifty tricks
on the table. Join our pool club and make history!
