TOP OF ThE CROP
Both these wines, from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of
France have attained Gold Medal status for obvious reasons.
They come with centuries-old pedigree and consumer
recognition. Chateau Millegrand is located outside the
small village of Trèbes, just east of the fortified Medieval
city of Carcassonne: A quality region of Minervois, which is
renowned for rich, characterful reds made from a traditional
blend. The Domaine de Cibadiès originates in Vin de Pays
d’Oc, and is produced by Jean-Michel Bonfils and his three
sons, multi-generational wine growers since 1870.
Château Millegrand 2009 - Minervois Red - Gold Medal
The beautiful deep red colour is testament to the rich
nose of aromatic ripe fruits. Heightened by a slight wisp of
peppermint, it draws attention to deeper aromas of cocoa
and extra ripe fruit. A long full finish in the mouth with
some wooden notes mixed with elegantly smooth tannins.
Goes perfectly with grilled meat especially lamb chops.
Domaine de Cibadiès 2010 - Chardonnay White “Oak
Barrel” - Gold Medal
Its paleness belies its intensity. Many chardonnay aficionados
describe it as harmonious with crystalline purity. It has a complex
and intense nose, and a bouquet of aromatic peach, vanilla and
floral notes. Goes well with fish, chicken and cheese.

MOUNT GAY RUM
Often described as the ‘rum that
invented rum’, Mount Gay Rum is one
of the oldest and best-respected rum
distilleries in the world. Since 1703, its
name is synonymous with Barbados,
the birthplace of rum. The taste is
akin to a field of sugarcanes in your
mouth: All at once, you taste the
delicious smoothness of vanilla, sweet
toffee with hints of ginger, spice, rich
dried fruits and sherry sweetness,
balanced off with lingering wood
smoke. Sealing the goodness that
Mount Gay Rum has to offer.
