Open Door" is the theme for the annual<br />

meeting of <strong>Friends</strong> World Committee for<br />

Consultation, Section of the Americas. The<br />

Western Association of <strong>Friends</strong> and Pacific<br />

Yearly Meeting will host the meeting at the<br />

Hilton Hotel and First <strong>Friends</strong> Church in<br />

Whittier, California. Representatives from<br />

around the section will gather, and through<br />

worship, fellowship, and business, <strong>Friends</strong> will<br />

explore the doors that are open for FWCC as<br />

we move into the next millennium. Among<br />

the highlights of this gathering will be a keynote<br />

address by Jim Healton, pastor of Sacramento<br />

<strong>Friends</strong> Church; a panel on <strong>Friends</strong><br />

work and witness; regional meetings; and opportunities<br />

for small group worship. The meeting<br />

will be conducted in both Spanish and<br />

English. All interested <strong>Friends</strong> are welcome to<br />

the Fourth World Movement/USA, the U.S.<br />

branch of an international association working<br />

with and on behalf of those around the<br />

world who live in extreme poverty. The International<br />

Movement ATD Fourth World is<br />

Unesco, Unicef, ILO, and the Council of<br />

Europe. The journal aims to bring together<br />

different points of view, especially those of the<br />

very poor themselves, on topics related to<br />
