Novation lives up to its name again<br />
and presents a brand new digital<br />
DJ controller on Frankfurt’s music<br />
fair. The basic idea is far away from<br />
classical DJing, as becomes obvious<br />
at a first glance: There are no<br />
jog wheels on this device any more.<br />
Instead of these parts descending<br />
from turntables there are 8 trigger<br />
pads which imply a different<br />
approach towards DJing: Excessive<br />
sampling and looping it is! In<br />
fact the device reminds the oldschool<br />
Akai MPC sampling units in<br />
quite some respects. Two touchstrips<br />
allow track and loop navigation<br />
and serve for beat visualization<br />
as well. Beside pretty mad sampling<br />
possibilities, there is a FX section<br />
and of course also a mixer with<br />
a 3-band EQ included. Comes with<br />
Serato Itch but is also compatible<br />
with Traktor, Ableton Live etc.<br />

synchronization but for sure it’s<br />
