<strong>intellectual</strong> assets. The Chamber offers these types of services in alliance with an Italian<br />

firm named ABC NET SERVIZI per L’ IMPRESA, within the consulting area of the Chamber.<br />

With the goal of implementing an IP Training Course Programme in Colombia, a national<br />

alliance between the different Colombian Chamber of Commerce has been established to<br />

allow them to rely on tools to aid the promotion of IP use in the different <strong>business</strong>.<br />

The Chamber is setting up the first Centre <strong>for</strong> SMEs <strong>for</strong> the Promotion and Support<br />

of IP, and is also <strong>work</strong>ing with six other chambers in Colombia in a national project to<br />

promote IP to <strong>business</strong>es.<br />

The Croatian Chamber of Economy established in 1997 the Society <strong>for</strong> Innovation<br />

within the Industry Department. Its mission is to promote and help innovators to commercialize<br />

their innovation on domestic and <strong>for</strong>eign markets, most notably, with regards<br />

to the issue of IP. Among others activities, the Society <strong>for</strong> Innovation collaborates with<br />

all Croatian institutions and agencies authorized in the IPR field (SIPO, CIT, Ministry <strong>for</strong><br />

Science, education and sport, BICRO, etc.)<br />

The mission of the Society <strong>for</strong> Innovation within the Industry Dept. of the chamber<br />

is to provide in<strong>for</strong>mation on IP, with the aim to raise the awareness of IP policy. In collaboration<br />

with SIPO and the Croatian Inventors Associations, the Chamber supports<br />

publications and guides aimed to in<strong>for</strong>m and help scientists and innovators obtain<br />

IPR. The Society <strong>for</strong> Innovation periodically publishes a bilingual (printed and digital)<br />

Catalogue of Croatian innovations and Innovative Products (based only on patented<br />

Croatian inventions) and a guide on the innovation environment in Croatia.<br />

The Croatian Chamber of Economy is a partner in various EU projects on SIPO<br />

(Cards, Phare, Pro Inno Europe – ip4inno) and in EU TEMPUS Programme – Opus<br />

Project (http://opus.unizg.hr). Furthermore, the Chamber is also a partner in the EU<br />

Project EEN Net<strong>work</strong>, which organizes seminars and <strong>work</strong>shops in the IP field.<br />

The Croatian Chamber of Economy offers some advisory services to its members<br />

within its <strong>work</strong>ing programme, including general IP aspects. As these services are<br />

offered free of charge to members specialized consultants are recommended through<br />

the list of authorized and registered Croatian Industrial Property Representatives<br />

(Patent representatives and Trademark representatives) which is public and accessible<br />

on the website of State <strong>Intellectual</strong> <strong>property</strong> Office (SIPO): http://www.dziv.hr. The<br />

Chamber also provides in<strong>for</strong>mation of interest to innovators, such as authorized institutions,<br />

national supporting programmes, IPR system, and possibilities of exhibiting at<br />

domestic and international Innovation Fairs.<br />

The Chamber supports domestic companies as well as innovators and entrepreneurs<br />

exhibiting during domestic and international commercial innovation fairs (Genius<br />

- Geneve, INNOVA – Bruxelles, Arhimed – Moscow etc.), where <strong>work</strong>shops and seminars<br />

in the IP field <strong>for</strong> exhibitors/innovators are organized. Moreover, the Chamber<br />

awards The Golden Kuna Award <strong>for</strong> Innovation to the most successful innovator/<br />

entrepreneur on the domestic market, as well as to the most successful SME. This<br />

award has been granted <strong>for</strong> the past 10 years to individuals and companies whose<br />

innovation has been one of the key factors of their success on the global market.<br />

Through its Affiliation <strong>for</strong> Innovations, the Chamber assists companies in disseminating<br />

innovations at Fairs by selecting the best innovations/exhibits, preparing the printed<br />

materials, ad ver tising, translating the materials, helping in the booth during the exhibition<br />

etc. and also by financing a certain part of common exhibition costs – based on<br />

the Invoice of the Fair.<br />
