DELHI NORTH<br />

Panchdeep : A Yoga camp<br />

was organised at the adjoining<br />

park of Metro Station of Rohini<br />

East in Sector-3. GVCA was<br />

conducted in RR Geeta Bal<br />

<strong>Bharat</strong>i Public School. 9 best<br />

students & 6 teachers were<br />

honoured with mementoes, gifts<br />

& certificates. BKJ competition<br />

was held in the same school.<br />

About 80 students, which included<br />

position holders, were honoured.<br />

DELHI SOUTH<br />

A Block <strong>Jan</strong>akpuri :<br />

Closing ceremony of the Second<br />

session of CPD camp was held<br />

on 25th Oct. 2009. 35 students<br />

gave demonstration of Yog,<br />

Dhyan, Pranayam, Yogic Asans,<br />

rendered patriotic songs, recited<br />

Vande Mantram, to mention a few<br />

and won resounding applause.<br />

Shri A.K. Ahuja, a prominent<br />

social activist was the Chief<br />

Guest. Shri R.N. Chaudhary,<br />

General Secretary BVP, Delhi<br />

(South) blessed and inspired the<br />

children. All these children were<br />

given woollen sweaters as prize<br />

on their successful completion of<br />

the course.<br />

On the same day Dr.<br />

Ramesh Mishra(D. Litt) Prof. (ex)<br />

Ram Lal College, Delhi, gave an<br />

illuminating talk on “BHARTIYA<br />

SANSKRITI AND<br />

ENVIRONMENT”. He<br />

emphasized that from time<br />

immemorial afforestation has<br />

been a part and parcel of Bhartiya<br />

Sanskriti. Moreover, saving trees<br />

was given a religious sanction<br />

whereas deforestation got<br />

religious injunction. The net result<br />

had been pollution free<br />

environment. In the present<br />

times, when danger of global<br />

warming is looming large on our<br />

heads, let us rise to the occasion<br />

to keep our environment clean<br />

and unpolluted to bequeath it to<br />

our coming generations.<br />

C-2, <strong>Jan</strong>akpuri : Branch<br />

organised the marriage of the<br />

daughter of a poor widow in Geeta<br />

Mandir in association with C-2<br />

Temple committee. The couple<br />

was provided with all the<br />

necessities of household items.<br />

The branch organized a cultural<br />

week from 10 to 16.10.2009 in the<br />

main hall of Geeta Mandir. Talk<br />

on Ramayana by a famous<br />

scholar Acharya Dev Giriji and<br />

Bhajan Sandhya on 16.10.2009<br />

by renowned Sangeet Academy<br />

were also held .<br />

<strong>Jan</strong>akpuri Main : Branch in<br />

a special General Body Meeting<br />

held on 29.09.2009 honoured Shri<br />

D.P. Sarin a senior member of the<br />

branch as first <strong>Vikas</strong> Ratna in<br />

Delhi. Shri I.D. Ojha honoured the<br />

senior couple Smt. and Shri Sarin<br />

and presented the award of <strong>Vikas</strong><br />

Ratna and the memento in the<br />

presence of Dr. R.K. Thakur, Shri<br />

M.L. Gaur, members of National<br />

Governing Board, and other senior<br />

office bearers and members of the<br />

branch. On this occation Shri M.K.<br />

Wadhwa, branch secretary<br />

pledged to become 5th <strong>Vikas</strong><br />

Mitra of the branch. Shri I.D. Ojha,<br />

dwelt at length on the importance<br />

of <strong>Vikas</strong> Ratna and <strong>Vikas</strong> Mitra.<br />

On 2nd October 2009 branch<br />

organised a Yog Shivir for the<br />

senior citizens on the occasion of<br />

Gandhi Jayanti. 45 persons<br />

participated in the Shivir & learnt<br />

the art of Yoga & Pranayam from<br />

eminent Yogarcharyas Shri. G.B.<br />

Sharma & M.L. Arora. The branch<br />

ogranized a drawing competition<br />

on 31st October 2009. 140<br />

students from 12 schools<br />

participated. Deepawali Mangal<br />

Milan and Guru Nanak Devji<br />

Prakash Utsav was celebrated on<br />

9th November. The main speaker<br />

in the function was Dr. Meena<br />

Ludhiana : Branch<br />

Oct.Dental check-up camp in<br />

Jain Girls Senior Sec. School. Dr.<br />

T.P. Singh, Dr. Mrs. Neena Singh,<br />

Dr. Charu Bangia and Dr. Gagan<br />

checked up about 350 girls and<br />

40 girls were chosen for tooth<br />

cavity filling. 3rd October to 16th<br />

October, 'Sanskriti Saptah' was<br />

organized in different schools<br />

with painting, rangoli, mehndi<br />

present. 31st October: GVCA was<br />

held in Shanti Niketan Adarsh<br />

2009 wherin needy persons were<br />

provided artificial Limbs.<br />

Amritsar Main : Activities<br />

under aid to needy project during<br />

October 2009 are as under : Rs.<br />

2250/- given to a cancer patient<br />

on 16.10.2009; Rs.500/- given to<br />

10 intelligent girl students to pay<br />

their tution fee by project<br />

Chairman Mrs. Usha Chaba on<br />

30.10.2009. 170 Banians given to<br />

students of Andh Vidyalaya on<br />

30.10.09 worth Rs. 3,700/-; Rs.<br />

2800/- spent for organizing a<br />

langar at Historic Ram Talai<br />

Mandir for Sadhu's on 16.10.2009.<br />

saptah was celebrated from 19th<br />

to 25th September 2009 by<br />

distributing clothes, putting up<br />

Swagtam banners during<br />

navratra festivals.Free<br />

vaccination camp, tulsi vitran<br />

samaroh, a slogan writing<br />

competition were other highligts.<br />
