SPRING 2008
Link Light Rail Testing
Sound Transit is gearing up for the opening of its Link light rail line. The light rail trains,
which run in their own right of way free of highway congestion, will begin carrying
passengers from the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel to Sea-Tac Airport in 2009.
Train testing is now underway in the SODO area, south of downtown
Seattle. Expanded testing along Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in the Rainier Valley
and in Tukwila is scheduled to begin mid-summer, 2008, followed by Beacon Hill and
the Airport segments. More information about train testing and outreach is found at
www.soundtransit.org.
TRAIN
TESTING
Be very careful when crossing light rail tracks
in your car, bicycle or on foot. Always use designated
crossings and obey all signs and signals. Trains can travel
in any direction, on any track, at any time and they are
very quiet, you may not hear them coming.
Stay
Safe & Sound
