4Kids Entertainment handles 2 new properties
First, 4Kids Entertainment International
has been appointed the global licensing
agent for ‘J.V. The Extraordinary Adventures
of Jules Verne’, the brand new action/
comedy animation that has been developed
by Lux Vide in cooperation with Rai Fiction
and Musicartoon.
The Extraordinary Adventures of Jules
Verne imagines that the legendary author

of classics such as ‘20,000 Leagues under
the Sea’, ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’
and ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’
actually lived through these experiences
as a young man. In the show, Jules is
joined by a host of other characters, including
the feisty Amelie Lucas, who is the
same age as Jules and a born-adventurer,
and her father Artemius, an explorer and
journalist who employs the young Jules on
the editorial staff of his newspaper.
This animated TV series is comprised of
26x26min episodes, with a target audience
of kids 6 - 11, scheduled for a spring 2013
debut. Development of the licensing and
merchandising programme is set to kick off
with the launch of toys, games, interactive
and collectibles in 2013, followed by back to
school, apparel and accessories.
And they announced a new representation
agreement for a 2D animated adventure
and action series: ‘Beastkeeper’.
The property, co-produced by Starbright,
Mondo TV, Ponpoko Productions and Kappa
Edizioni, is comprised of 52 x 13 minutes
news
episodes with TV deals to be announced
shortly across multiple territories for
a 2013 launch. 4Kids Entertainment
represents the toy and gaming categories
worldwide, along with all other categories
for licensing and merchandising in the UK
and Ireland.
‘Beastkeeper’ will appeal to 6 – 11 year old
boys featuring action and adventures. Keep
is a boy with no memory of his past and of
unknown origin, but he is in possession of
an ancient and magical artefact called a
Spin Shell, which gives him the power to
control the Beasts. Beasts are legendary
creatures hidden in every corner of the
world, and Keep can harness their power
and actually fuse with them.
