ii. Periodical training/counselling is imparted
to the museum staff.
iii. The existing close circuit television
systems (CCTV) have been up-graded
by installing Digital Video Recorder
(Archaeological Museum Badami,
Archaeological Museum Bijapur, Koch
Bihar Palace Museum, and Hazarduari
Palace Museum). Besides above, as per
need, metal detectors, hand-held detectors
have been installed. Fire extinguishers/
smoke detectors/digital alarms are installed
in the Velha Goa Museum. Metal
detectors have been provided at
Hazarduari Palace Museum.
D. Interactions with Academicians,
Archaeologists and Artists: Local experts
are regularly invited to deliver lectures on
different topics related to archaeology, heritage
and history in all the site museums.
(i) A seminar, inviting various scholars from
the field, on the “Past, Present, and
Future of the Sarnath Museum”, has
been organized at Archaeological Museum
Sarnath. Workshops on various aspects of
functioning of museum including display
have been organized from time to time by
the Fort Museum, Velha Goa and Nalanda
Museum.
(ii) Officers from Hampi Museum were
deputed to attend the conference titled
“Diversity in Heritage Conservation,
Tradition and Participation” organized by
ICOM-CC.
(iii) Trainings and refresher courses are given
from time to time to museums officials.
Recently Badami Museum has deputed
their in-service staff for a workshop cum
training course on “Museum and Heritage
Management” held at National Museum
Institute, New Delhi.

E. Scientific Display of Artefacts:
(i) Power saving illumination system has been
introduced at a few site museums. Non-
Conventional sources of energy have been
utilised for providing light/heat at
Archaeological Site Museum, Badami;
Archaeological Site Museum, Surya Pahar;
Archaeological Site Museum, Amravati,
Archaeological Site Museum, Chandragiri;
Fort Museum, Chennai; Mattancherry
Palace Museum; and Tipu Sultan Museum,
Srirangapattanam.
(ii) Touch Screen kiosks in different languages
have been provided at Archaeological Site
museums such as Badami Museum,
Hazarduari Palace Museum, Sarnath
Museum, Nalanda Museum, and
Nagarjunikonda Museum.
(iii) Digitization of collections in the
Archaeological Site Museums is under
process in a uniform pattern as per
Antiquity Documentation Sheets prepared
under NMMA.
F. Arrangements in Site Museums for
Disabled persons: For disabled persons, special
arrangements have been made in some of the
Archaeological Site Museums.
(i) Facilities for physically challenged persons
are being introduced which includes
providing braille plaques, wheel chairs,
specially designed toilet facilities at some
Archaeological Site Museums such as
Hazarduari Palace Museum.
(ii) Archaeological Site Museums in Delhi have
already finalized text details on museum
objects and galleries in Braille and Braille
plaques would be provided at the earliest.
