Starting this May, Kite Adventures is
offering tours to Sardinia, the biggest island
off the coast of Italy. Famous for its blue
Mediterranean waters, authentic food and
beautiful people, the tour begins in Cagliari
in the south, where you can find 280-300
windy days every year (15-30 knots). There
are more than six beaches to kite along
and KA scouted out each spot to find the
best conditions for waves, flat water and
pure desolate beaches. The typical wind
here is called the Scirocco from the south
and southeast; it blows between 18 and 24
knots. It comes from the desert of Libya and
Tunisia. The locals call it the perfect wind,
like a fan. KA has two very knowledgeable
guides who have been living in Sardinia
for most of their kiting careers. They will
handle all of the arrangements, support and
are also keyed into the hottest parties in
town, which there are no shortage of!
