Olympic Opportunities!
Dear Editor:
I had my first kiteboarding lesson, and
I’m hooked! Tony Brady of Zero Gravity
gave me a quick one while on vacation
in Corpus Christi, and I can’t wait for the
next one. I put my house up for sale and
as soon as it closes, I’m moving to Corpus.
When Tony and I talked, he mentioned that
kiteboarding is the fastest growing sport in
the world, and we talked about it becoming
an Olympic sport. Have you heard any
chatter about that? I know snowboarding
was the biggest hit in Turin, Italy. I am sure
kiteboarding would be even bigger. Let me
know what you hear.

Be sure to look us up when you finally
make it to Corpus. We would love to see
kiteboarding become an Olympic sport.
There have been a few stories about the
idea, but no action YET! Let’s keep our

An 11-year-Old’s Thoughts
on Kiteboarding
Dear Editor:
The reason I like kiteboarding is it puts
everything together. I have always loved
the water and air, but couldn’t put them
together. I have tried everything--even
cannonballs, but they didn’t seem fun. I
even tried diving. I thought hang gliding
and swimming were my dreams, and then
I finally saw kiteboarding. Now all I dream
about is kiteboarding. I like the thrill of the
wind. I can’t believe people go so high.
Well that’s why I love kiteboarding!!!

Dear Editor:
First off, The Kiteboarder Magazine is the
standard in kite media, it’s like a bible
in our house and we are stoked for the
next one.
We can’t thank you guys enough for the
write up a couple issues back on our
college kite club. The feedback was sick.
We are putting together the first college
kite competition with Paul Menta and
The Kite House this spring break in Key
West. We hope ya’ll can make it. If any
college riders want in or information on
starting a club at their school, hit me up

Chilling in Minnesota
Dear Editor:
Thank you for your support, and thank
you for the magazines you sent. The
January issue is sick! I will make sure to
give them to my students. They will be
stoked! It’s so awesome you guys have
respect for the snow.
The Kite Freeze in Minnesota has been
postponed due to funds, but we are
still having an expression session on
Lake Swede. It should be good, but our
conditions are holding us back from
being able to drive on the lakes. We are
still going to put out rails and fun boxes.

The Red Bull, Kite Freeze was the
very first snowkite competition I ever
attended. Sorry to hear the event has
been downsized. There is no doubt in my
mind that snowkiting will snowball—no
