PGY 2401C Photography as Art Form: Basic Camera<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Basic theory and practice <strong>of</strong> black and white photography as<br />
an art form. Emphasis on understanding the technical aspects<br />
<strong>of</strong> the camera and exploring its potential as an artistic tool. The<br />
development <strong>of</strong> basic techniques and aesthetic concerns in<br />
relation to the photographic image. Includes basic darkroom<br />
experience. Invites all students. Material and supply fee will be<br />

PGY 3420C Photo Art II<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Prerequisite: PGY 2401C<br />
Development <strong>of</strong> advanced techniques and concerns in relation<br />
to the black and white photographic image. Emphasis on<br />
exploration as a means <strong>of</strong> creative artistic expression. Material<br />
and supply fee will be assessed<br />
PGY 3500C Photographic Imaging as an Art Form<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Prerequisite: ART 2201C<br />
Theory and practice <strong>of</strong> black and white photography as an<br />
art form. Emphasis on understanding the technical aspects <strong>of</strong><br />
the camera and exploring its potential as an artistic tool. The<br />
development <strong>of</strong> techniques, aesthetic concerns, and teaching<br />
methodology in relation to the photographic image. Includes<br />
darkroom lab experience. For art education students. Material<br />

PGY 4104C Creative Darkroom<br />

Prerequisite: PGY 2401C<br />
In-depth exploration <strong>of</strong> the use <strong>of</strong> darkroom techniques,<br />
procedures, and manipulations as an artistic means to the<br />
development <strong>of</strong> advanced techniques and aesthetic concerns in<br />
relation to the altered photographic image. Material and supply<br />
fee will be assessed<br />
PGY 4823 Advanced Digital Photography<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Prerequisite: ART 2600C, ART 3660C<br />
An advanced class in image manipulation with emphasis<br />
on Adobe Photoshop, use <strong>of</strong> the film recorder, darkroom<br />
techniques, and photo history and theory. Designed for artists<br />
who are interested in learning how to manipulate photographic<br />
and computer created images into finished photographs.<br />
Manipulating images and controlling equipment and images,<br />
working between the darkroom and the computer, and<br />
integrating traditional photographic processes with experimental<br />
processes are included. Material and Supply fee will be<br />
assessed<br />
PGY 4940C Photography: Personal Directions<br />
3 sh (may be repeated for up to 9.0 sh <strong>of</strong> credit)<br />
Prerequisite: PGY 2401C<br />
Fosters the development <strong>of</strong> personal expression within the<br />
framework <strong>of</strong> black-and-white photography as an art form.<br />
Covers advanced camera and darkroom techniques, as<br />
appropriate to the individual’s direction. Material and Supply fee<br />
will be assessed<br />

PEL 1341 Beginning Tennis<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Designed to introduce students to basic tennis strokes; rules;<br />
etiquette; terminology; basic tactics; strategy; and equipment<br />

PEO 2031 Analysis <strong>of</strong> Individual Sports<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Practicum in analytical techniques <strong>of</strong> skills involved in individual<br />
sports. Emphasis is on analysis, instructional design, and<br />
application <strong>of</strong> skills in a teaching situation<br />
PEO 3001 Sports Officiating<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Provides students insight into and experiences related to the<br />
world and pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> sports <strong>of</strong>ficiating. Principles, practices,<br />
responsibilities, techniques, and methods employed in sports<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficiating will be presented. Opportunities for employment in<br />
sports <strong>of</strong>ficiating will be discussed. Students will be required to<br />
observe <strong>of</strong>ficiating techniques and will be assigned <strong>of</strong>ficiating<br />
responsibilities in local sports programs<br />
PEO 3008 Sports Officiating II<br />
3 sh (may not be repeated for credit)<br />
Prerequisite: PEO 3001<br />
Provides students an advanced look into sports and experiences<br />
related to the world and pr<strong>of</strong>ession <strong>of</strong> sports <strong>of</strong>ficiating.<br />
Advanced principles, practices, responsibilities, techniques,<br />
and methods employed in sports <strong>of</strong>ficiating will be presented.<br />
Opportunities for employment in sports <strong>of</strong>ficiating will be<br />
discussed. Students will be required to observe <strong>of</strong>ficiating<br />
techniques and will be assigned <strong>of</strong>ficiating responsibilities in<br />
local sports programs. Credit may not be received in both PEO<br />
3008 and PEO 3004
