Become a bartender
if your child is considered gifted
and talented by Anne Arundel
County Schools then you should
check out the variety of summer
camps that AACC has to offer in
partnership with the county school
system. Both full-day and halfday
camps provide students in
kindergarten through eighth grade
the opportunity to learn about
robotics, amphibians, microscopes,
digital animation and more. See
page 9-10 for camp listings, then

Thinking about becoming a
bartender? In only seven evenings
you can not only learn how to
bartend and take the ServSafe
Alcohol certification from the
National Restaurant Association
Education Foundation, but you
can also earn an AACC continuing
education certificate that indicates
to potential employers that
you’ve successfully completed this
valuable job training program. The
course is taught by hospitality and
culinary arts professionals with
AACC’s Hotel, Culinary Arts and
Tourism Institute. See “Bartender
Certification” (HCT 342) on page 72.

second Language
Just for women

Community-based ESL programs
in community colleges, community
centers, places of worship and
oversees are in need of qualified
instructors. If you think you have a
passion or gift for teaching people
in need of learning English, look
to AACC for your community-based
ESL instructor training. Start with
Introduction to Teaching ESL
(ESL 380) being offered this July
then finish up your practicum,
grammar, reading and vocabulary
courses by December. See page 44
for details.

to teach ESL in Anne Arundel County Public
Schools.

new career, start a new hobby in
classes taught by women just for
women. AACC’s Women’s Institute
offers shorter format classes such as
“Exercises with Kettlebells
(WIS 323), “Finding a New Career”
(WMN 399) or "Wire Wrapped Sea
Glass” (WIS 387) that allow women
to explore new topics in a nurturing
and supportive environment. Like
what you learned? Then check out
our fitness and exercise, jewelry
and stained glass making and
career exploration courses in other
parts of the schedule. So set aside
an evening or two or three just for
yourself this summer. See page
34-36 for a list of Women’s Institute
courses.
