Cleaning and Disinfecting Reusable eTRAX Needle Sensor<br />

1. After each use, remove needle sensor from needle, discarding single-use, disposable<br />
components. Remove visible contaminants from needle sensor surface.<br />
2. Clean and disinfect all surfaces with common germicidal or antiseptic such as<br />
Sani-cloth® HB, T-Spray , Protex or alcohol.<br />
3. Follow manufacturer’s directions for all cleaning and disinfection.<br />
Other Cleaning Precautions:<br />
• Inspect needle sensor for damage such as cracks or breakage. If damage is evident,<br />
discontinue use of needle sensor and contact <strong>CIVCO</strong>.<br />
• Users of this product have an obligation and responsibility to provide the highest degree<br />
of infection control to patients, co-workers and themselves. To avoid cross-contamination,<br />
follow infection control policies established by your facility.<br />
• The recommended protocol for reprocessing the needle sensor has been evaluated for<br />
effectiveness and compatibility. If choosing to use a reprocessing protocol other than those<br />
listed, a validation must first be completed to ensure effectiveness and compatibility.<br />
• Ensure needle sensor does not bend during cleaning and disinfecting.<br />
• Do not gas sterilize or autoclave needle sensor.<br />
