GELITA is a company with German roots – and a long company
history rich in tradition. Founded in 1875, it now has sites on six
continents. 2600 employees manufacture more than 80.000
tonnes of gelatine and other collagen proteins. Today, we produce
gelatine, collagen and collagen peptides for foods, pharma ceutical
products, and health & nutrition products. From fruit gum
and pharmaceutical capsules to food supplements, we give
products worldwide that little bit extra that makes them
more popular, more healthy, and durable. Our collagen proteins
are also essential for a variety of technical products.

The Liaoyuan factory, Jilin province
Founded: in October 2005
In Liaoyuan, the main focus is on production of high-quality
bone gelatine for pharmaceutical applications. Hard and soft
capsules that are easy to take by far constitute the largest
proportion of production here. Due to the excellent market
development, an expansion of the production capacity in
Liaoyuan is planned for the coming years.
The Cangnan factory
In Cangnan, the focus is on manufacturing pharmaceutical
gelatines as well as producing edible gelatines. Easy to use
and neutral in taste and odour, this versatile product can
be used wherever natural gelling agents, stabilziers, binding
agents, emulsifi ers, fi lm forming, foaming and thickening
agents are required.
Different gelatine types are necessary for different areas
of application: making the correct selection requires expert
knowledge. We therefore provide our customers with a com -
prehensive application service and consultation from our
experienced food technicians on site.
