streamlined process for base in-processing and helps <strong>Air</strong>men<br />

understand how they fi t into “Team <strong>Schriever</strong>.”<br />

FTAC runs for eight duty days, with classes starting on<br />

Mondays. <strong>Air</strong>men in process with their squadrons prior to<br />

starting FTAC and are subsequently scheduled for the next<br />

available class. FTAC is located in Building 210, Room <strong>310</strong>,<br />

Formal Training Section<br />

Th e Formal Training Section manages the military<br />

technical training allocation, establishes the selection process<br />

for unallocated training slots and is responsible for the<br />

Squadron Offi cers School Board, Senior Non-Commissioned<br />

Offi cer Academy, and Non-Commissioned Offi ce Academy.<br />

Th e Formal Training Section is located in Building 210,<br />

Room <strong>310</strong>, and can be reached at (719) 567-59035170, or<br />

<strong>Base</strong> Training Section<br />

Th e <strong>Base</strong> Training Section manages education and training<br />

functions, implements unit education and training programs<br />

and manages mandatory upgrade training for the wing. Th e<br />

section is also responsible for collecting and analyzing training<br />

data for 50th <strong>SW</strong> units on a monthly and quarterly basis. In<br />

addition, upgrade and qualifi cation training for military and<br />

civilian personnel are conducted by base training. Th ere is<br />

also a Test Offi cer available to administer CDC end of course<br />

tests, professional military education, and proctor testing for<br />

colleges. Th e <strong>Base</strong> Training Section is located in Building<br />

Sustainment Services Flight<br />

Th e Sustainment Services Flight provides oversight for<br />

the Fitness and Sports Center, Outdoor Recreation (which<br />

includes Information, Tickets and Tours, and the Awards,<br />

Engraving and Custom Framing Shop) and the Satellite Dish<br />

Dining Facility. Th e mission of the Sustainment Services<br />

Flight is to contribute to readiness through provision of<br />

sustainment services promoting fi tness, recreation and<br />

essential messing.<br />

Fitness and Sports Center<br />

Th e Fitness and Sports Center hosts a wide range of fi tness<br />

and sports programs. Th e center off ers monthly sporting<br />

activities, six intramural sports and three varsity sports. Patrons<br />

have access to state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength<br />

training equipment, as well as highly-skilled personal trainers<br />

who can develop an exercise program for any fi tness level or<br />

experience. Personal training services, daily-use lockers and<br />

towels are all provided free of charge. Th e 19,160 squarefoot<br />

Fitness Center hosts all indoor intramural programs and<br />

most “Fit to Fight” activities in the gymnasium. To the east<br />

of the Fitness Center is a covered track. While not heated,<br />

it does provide protection from weather. Th ere are also two<br />

outside running or walking areas; the running trail between<br />

the Fitness Center and Housing, and the open track to the<br />

West of the Fitness Center. At the east end of O’Malley<br />

Street is a sand volleyball pit as well as outdoor basketball<br />

and tennis courts. Th e Fitness and Sports Center is located<br />

Outdoor Recreation<br />

Th e Outdoor Recreation Program provides a wide variety<br />

of information and services to include ticket sales, equipment<br />

rental, a snack/souvenir sales store and RV storage facilities.<br />

Tickets for ski resorts, sporting events and other tourist<br />

attractions in the Colorado area provide opportunities to<br />

experience local attractions. Aff ordable outdoor programs<br />

are off ered at exceptional military or group discount prices,<br />

and a variety of camping gear, infl atable bouncy units, popup<br />

campers and tables and chairs are among some of the items<br />

available to rent. Th ere is a small resale operation off ering<br />

snacks, drinks, military coins, <strong>Schriever</strong> AFB clothing, mugs<br />

and more. Outdoor Recreation manages a secure RV storage<br />

lot with 239 slots, off ering customers safe, secure, 24/7<br />

keyless access at aff ordable prices.Th e Awards, Engraving<br />

and Custom Framing shop, provides customers with a onestop<br />

shop for unit awards and personal gifts. Th e Outdoor<br />

Recreation operation is located in building 300, Room 133,<br />

and can be reached at (719) 567-6050, or DSN: 560-6050.<br />

Customers can be met outside the restricted area if needed.<br />

Satellite Dish Dining Facility<br />

Due to the limited dining options on <strong>Schriever</strong> AFB,<br />

the Satellite Dish Dining Facility is open to all military<br />

and DoD civilian personnel. <strong>Base</strong> contractors/partners<br />

are welcome to dine during dinner, weekends and federal<br />

holidays. Th e dining facility operates on an a la carte system<br />

serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, 365<br />

days a year. Currently, the dining facility is operated by a<br />

full food service contract, through a partnership between the<br />

State of Colorado Business Enterprise and a blind vendor.<br />
