Preconvention Program—Attend courses providing in-depth coverage of ultrasound<br />

issues. Earn up to 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits (accepted by the ARDMS) or<br />

ARRT Category A Credits.<br />

Just Images Sessions—View and discuss unique cases with the physicians who<br />

made the diagnosis.<br />

Comprehensive Refresher Sessions—Comprehensive Refresher Sessions are venues<br />

for luminary speakers to present an overall review of a topic.<br />

Special Interest Sessions—Choose from concurrent courses developed by Community<br />

chairs and the <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Convention</strong> Committee and presented by distinguished<br />

ultrasound professionals.<br />

Hands-on Special Interest Sessions—Participate in courses covering basic and<br />

advanced obstetric ultrasound, carotid and transcranial Doppler ultrasound, elastography,<br />

how to do the biopsy, musculoskeletal ultrasound, renal and mesenteric<br />

imaging, ultrasound-guided interventions, and ultrasound-guided vascular access.<br />

The cost for these sessions is $30 each. Space is limited.<br />

uf Ultrasound First Sessions—Ultrasound First is an endeavor devoted to education<br />

and increasing awareness of the effectiveness of ultrasound in enhancing<br />

patient care. Many meeting sessions support the Ultrasound First concept. Look for<br />

the Ultrasound First designation throughout the program.<br />

Film Panel Sessions—A group of expert panelists will evaluate new and challenging<br />

cases in ultrasound.<br />

Three- and Four-Dimensional Volume Data Set Manipulation Sessions—Participate<br />

in small-group sessions led by renowned ultrasound professionals. Space is limited.<br />

Register early as these sessions will sell out quickly. Three- and Four-Dimensional<br />

Volume Data Set Manipulation Sessions are not included in the convention<br />

registration fee. The cost for these sessions is $30 each.<br />

Scientific Sessions—Learn about the latest research in ultrasound.<br />

Community and Interest Group Meetings—(Formerly Communities of Practice)<br />

Meet with other ultrasound professionals who share your interests, plan future AIUM<br />

educational programs, and discuss the issues in your specialty—and earn CME credit.<br />

Accreditation “Getting Started” Workshop—Learn how easy it is to complete the<br />

ultrasound practice accreditation process and get answers to the most commonly<br />

asked questions regarding accreditation.<br />

Case-of-the-Day Challenges—Test your abilities each day by diagnosing unique case<br />

studies.<br />

E-Posters—E-posters allow authors to display their research using a monitor and<br />

computer to effectively convey information that would not necessarily be possible<br />

with a traditional printed poster.<br />

Becoming a Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine Reviewer—Learn the techniques for<br />

becoming an effective manuscript reviewer.<br />
