The only coloured plate to appear in any of our copies of the Botanical extracts, and presumably derived from another source and bound in by a previous owner? Thornton is declared as the publisher. The White Lily with variegated leaves Copy 1: vol. II (156) Copy 2: (44) 1 Aug 1800 Artist: Henderson. Engraver: Stadler. Aquatint. First state (copy 2): shadows of temple run obliquely down from left, higher on second column; clump of trees over hill slightly visible. Second state: shadow on second column, and clump of trees, removed. Third state (copy 1): shadow returns to column but symmetrically with other shadows.
