<strong>Fine</strong> early 1800 three piece Argand lamp mantle set, single double arm, pair of single arm, two tone<br />

gilt finish, solid brass, boldly reeded pedestal base and tank, turned arms, molded drip cups, interior<br />

frosted tulip shades, ribbed edge, double arm 20"t 19"w 7" diameter base, singles are 19"t 14"w 6<br />

1/2" base. Good original finish, electrified, later shades.<br />

Exceptional circa 1800 Hepplewhite cylinder roll secretary, beautiful fiddleback and flame<br />

mahogany, 9'1"tall, possibly John Aitkin, Philadelphia, or by a Baltimore cabinetmaker,<br />

mechanically opening cylinder rolls as writing slide is pulled, drawered and fitted interior, ivory<br />

pulls, three drawers, shaped skirt, great 8"t flaring French bracket feet, three drawers above cylinder,<br />

inlaid ebony corners on base, unusual triple arch and drape mullions on double glass doors, fine book<br />

matched frieze panel, reeded pilasters on draped crest, poplar secondary woods, 46"w 9'1"t 24"d 31"<br />

writing surface, 13 1/2"d interior. NEW PHOTOS<br />

This fine piece came out of the Baltimore area. A comparable desk ordered by G Washington for<br />

Mt Vernon in 1797 from J Aitken, Phila can be seen at this webpage (with crest) another site<br />

(without crest), about halfway down the page.<br />

There is also a comparable desk with eglomoise panels displayed at the Westervelt Warner<br />

museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama www.WarnerMuseum.org (that desk is not displayed on their<br />

website but is discussed in the book An <strong>American</strong> Odyssey, pg 171/1).<br />

Restored old finish, repairs to original feet, one replaced 17"w backboard, three original adjustable<br />

shelves, original glass.<br />

Large 19th century print of landing of Columbus, Indians and ships in back ground, original gilt and<br />

grained frame with incised decorations, 33 1/2"w x 24"t, 38"w x 28"t frame. Good condition.<br />

Excellent centennial period Federal coat rack, solid mahogany, large turned fluted pedestal with<br />

acanthus leaf carved rings, pineapple finial, platform base, heavy brass cane or umbrella hook, 6'6"t<br />

23" base. Good original finish/condition.<br />

Pair mid 1800 triple arm girandole set, solid brass, Spirit of 76 model, NY or Philadelphia,<br />

gentleman with wooden leg with child holding cane and stick as firearms by tree, double step white<br />

marble base, scrolled arm, morning glory vine, prism rings, 18"t 17"w. Brightly cleaned, some<br />

remnants of original gilt, finely cast.<br />

<strong>Fine</strong> Centennial Chippendale desk, solid mahogany, deep shell carved slant lid writing surface with<br />

scrolled leaves, fitted interior, triple shell carved block front, nicely molded, open base with leaf<br />

carved cabriole legs, ball and claw feet, reticulated solid brass pulls, solid oak secondary woods, a<br />

fine handmade piece in the quality of R J Horner, NYC, 35"w 41"t 20"d 31" writing surface. Good<br />

original finish/condition.<br />

Four piece Colonial Revival sterling teaset, Gorham, anchor mark, retailed by Bigelow Kennard &<br />

Co., beautiful block ribbed shaped body, ebony handles and finials, 12"t water pot on stand with<br />

warmer, 9"t coffee pot, 6"t teapot, 6" covered sugar. Good condition.<br />
