Iterated Extended <strong>Kalman</strong> Filter (IEKF)<br />

The EKF linearised the state and measurement equations about the predicted<br />

state as an operating point. This prediction is often inaccurate in practice.<br />

The estimate can be refined by re-evaluating the filter around the new estimated<br />

state operating point. This refinement procedure can be iterated until little<br />

extra improvement is obtained - called the IEKF.<br />
