Installation recommendations
Alignment and inclination
Warning!
Please observe the installation requirements for this type of module when
determining the installation inclination angle.
In Europe, the modules should ideally be aligned to face south. In Central
Europe, the optimum inclination of the modules is around 30°. In Northern
Europe, the optimum inclination angle is somewhat steeper, and in Southern
Europe a little flatter. Deviation from optimum alignment and inclination
reduces the energy yield of the system.
Shade free installation
A module is deemed to be free from shade if its entire surface receives no
shading all year round and unimpeded irradiation of sunlight is possible.
Even small areas of partial shading, such as from chimneys, aerials, buildings,
trees (pay attention to growth) and lampposts lead to yield reductions.
Modules should therefore be installed where there is the lowest possible
amount of shading over the course of the day, or preferably where there is no
shading whatsoever. If necessary, shading analysis can be carried out using
a simulation tool or a solar altitude analyser.
Please note
Temporary shading from the build-up of dirt (dust, bird droppings,
leaves, etc.) can also diminish yields. Information on removing these types
of dirt is given in the chapter “Maintenance and cleaning”.
Warning!
If necessary, provide additional protection for transportation routes (e.g. by
means of running boards) to prevent the roof being damaged during material
transport.
