This plant is the ipecacuanha branca of Piso, and<br />
is used by the Brazilians as a substitute for the common<br />
ipecacuanha. Piso praises its virtues against<br />
poisons.<br />
7. Ionidium Urtica:jolium.<br />
S. Cltiococca Anguifuga.<br />
9. Chiococca Densifolia.<br />
This and the foregoing species of Chiococca appeal'<br />
to have virtues in cases of snake-bites, and are sup·<br />
posed to do good chiefly by exciting vomiting.<br />
10. Manettia Cordifolia.<br />
This plant is considered by the Brazilians as pos·<br />
sessing great efficacy in cases of dropsy and dysentery.<br />

root is from half a drachm to a drachm and a half:<br />
