Winter Athletics
North Georgia Rec Basketball (6-12 year olds)
Northwestern Middle School, Hopewell Middle School
Description: Basketball is offered only in the Winter
through North Georgia Recreation. Our Winter season
is for boys and girls ages 6-12 years. Our Six Shooters
program for 6 year old boys and girls is an instructional
program held once a week on Tuesdays or Thursdays at
5:30pm. The 7-12 year old boys and girls participate in a
league with 1 practice a week and a game on the weekends.
We use several of the local schools to hold practices
and games. As players progress through our different
age groups, they are provided with many opportunities
to develop and fine-tune their ball handling skills, court
movement as well as learn offensive and defensive strategy.
Age groups are based on the child’s age as of September
1st of the current school year. All 9-12 year olds
will go through evaluations. Evaluations are mandatory
and will be held on Oct. 20, 2012.
Registration: Begins Sept. 4.

Alpharetta Youth Softball Association (6U - 13-plus)
Alpharetta North Park (through partnership)
Description: The Alpharetta Youth Softball Association
(AYSA) is a volunteer organization providing a quality
softball league for girls in Alpharetta, Milton, and
the North Fulton area. We focus on developing playing
skills, good sportsmanship, promoting physical fitness
and contributing to the quality of life in the City of Alpharetta
and surrounding areas by ensuring access to a
team sport for young girls.
Cost: 6U: $100 ; 8U: $115; 10U and above: $135.

Eagle Stix Lacrosse (5-14 year olds -- girls only)
Northwestern Middle, Birmingham Falls Elementary
Description: Eagle Stix will be conducting a spring recreation
lacrosse program for girls in Pre-K through 8th
grade. All girls will be placed on a team.
Cost: Pre-K through 3rd grade: $175 for residents
and $225 for non-residents; 4th through 8th grade:
$225 for residents and $275 for non-residents.

North Georgia Rec Flag Football (6-17 year olds)
Cogburn Woods Elementary, Hopewell Middle School
Description: Our Winter season is a much larger league
where we offer children ages 6-17 the ability to sharpen
their skills while having a great time. A mouth guard is
required for play. Age groups are based on the child’s age
as of Sept. 1 of the current school year.
Registration: Oct. 1 - Nov. 4
Cost: $140 for residents and $210 for non-residents

Hopewell Youth Association Baseball (4-15 year olds)
Bell Memorial Park
Description: HYA, which recently celebrated its 25th
anniversary, is a non-profit organization that schedules
and programs the baseball activities at Milton’s Bell Memorial
Park through a joint agreement with the City of
Milton.
Registration:
Nov. 7 to Dec. 3 – Milton residents and HYA veteran
players ONLY.
Dec. 4 to Dec. 17 – Alpharetta residents (no out-of-city
fees).
Dec. 18 to Dec. 31 – Open registration.
Cost: Cost varies based on age group and residence.
