ABOUT DARLINGTON RACEWAY<br />
Darlington Raceway is located near Darlington,<br />
South Carolina. It is nicknamed the "The Track Too<br />
Tough to Tame" by many NASCAR fans and drivers<br />
and is advertised as a “NASCAR Tradition". This<br />
65,000 seat facility has a unique, almost eggshaped<br />
design, as opposed to a traditional,<br />
symmetrical oval. Interestingly enough, this<br />
condition supposedly arose from the proximity of<br />
one end of the track to a minnow pond the owner<br />
refused to relocate. This situation makes it very<br />
challenging for crews to set up their cars' handling<br />
in a way that will be eective at both ends.<br />
THE LAMAR/NASCAR CONNECTION<br />
Track<br />
<strong>Lamar</strong> has strong bulletin coverage along I-20, the primary interstate access leading to<br />
Darlington Raceway. In addition, <strong>Lamar</strong> has excellent bulletin and poster coverage in<br />
Camden and Columbia, two neighboring communities that race fans frequent on the way<br />
to the track. <strong>Lamar</strong> has 14 digital units in the Columbia metro area that are ideal for<br />
promotional opportunities leading up to race week.<br />
