POCONO RACEWAY
ABOUT POCONO RACEWAY
Pocono Raceway is a 76,812 seat speedway located
in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania at Long
Pond. It is the site of two annual NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series races held just weeks apart. Outside of
the NASCAR races, Pocono is used throughout the
year by sports car and motorcycle clubs, as well as
racing schools. The tri-oval track has three separate
ineld sections of race track and each of these
ineld sections uses a separate portion of the trioval
to complete the track. During regular nonrace
weekends, multiple clubs can use the track by
running on dierent ineld sections.
THE LAMAR/NASCAR CONNECTION
Pocono Raceway is located about 90 miles away from both New York City, the #1 Designated
Market Area, and Philadelphia, the #4 Designated Market Area. That enables the
raceway to be within 200 miles of 60 million people, and when you consider the
average NASCAR fan travels 300 miles to a race, Pocono Raceway has the highest
population density of any other racetrack.
