MAKING DRAWERS WITH HALF BLIND FLUSH<br />
OFFSET JOINTS<br />
GENERAL PREPARATIONS<br />
a. The length of the drawer front is 1/8" longer than the<br />
length of the drawer back.<br />
b. When cutting corners 1 and 4; the cam handle is rotated<br />
two graduations toward the back of the base, thus moving<br />
the template 1/32" toward the back of the base. (Refer to<br />
Figure 55).<br />
NOTE: MAKE SURE THE TEMPLATE CLAMPING<br />
KNOBS ARE LOOSE TO MAKE TEMPLATE ADJUST-<br />
MENT. AFTER ADJUSTMENT IS MADE, RETIGHTEN<br />
TEMPLATE CLAMPING KNOBS.<br />
c. When cutting corners 2 and 3; the cam handle is positioned<br />
vertically, as shown in Figure 48.<br />
d. All other GENERAL PREPARATIONS are the same as<br />
those used for "MAKING DRAWERS WITH HALF BLIND<br />
FLUSH JOINTS".<br />
THE PROCEDURE FOR CUTTING THESE JOINTS IS<br />
THE SAME AS THAT USED FOR "MAKING DRAWERS<br />
WITH HALF BLIND FLUSH JOINTS".<br />
• After all dovetail cuts have been made, cut a 1/16" deep<br />
by 3/8" deep rabbet on opposite ends of the drawer front.<br />
• The finished front, back, and sides should look like those<br />
in Figure 38.<br />
• Before gluing the front, back, and sides together, some<br />
provision must be made for installing the bottom, such<br />

as dadoing or cutting a groove around the inside of the<br />
drawer parts.<br />
• Your drawer is now ready to be glued together.<br />
• Remove the pencil markings by light sanding or with a<br />
soft eraser after the drawer parts have been glued<br />
together.
