Interaction strategies combine both reception and production activities and their relevant<br />

strategies <strong>de</strong>scribed above as well as those unique to interactive communications which involve<br />

the management of the communicative process.<br />

6.4 Planning<br />

Involves:<br />

framing.<br />

i<strong>de</strong>ntifying relevant information.<br />

judging what can be proposed.<br />

<strong>de</strong>ciding possible moves.<br />

6.4.1 Performance<br />

Involves:<br />

taking the floor / keeping the floor in conversations.<br />

co-operating (helping mutual un<strong>de</strong>rstanding and to achieve a common goal).<br />

<strong>de</strong>aling with the unexpected (sud<strong>de</strong>n changes of topic, attitu<strong>de</strong>, etc.).<br />

asking for or giving help or clarification (misun<strong>de</strong>rstandings or breakdowns in<br />

communication).<br />
