62 $50 CONGRATULATIONS! Well, following a rather mild wet season things have turned out much better than expected on the fishing front. Easter 2012 will be remembered as 'Metrey Easter' with the barra fishing best described as Mayhem. I kid you not....I am sick and tired of hearing the metrey stories! You name the river and the fish were there...The Daly, The South, The East, The adelaide, The Finniss, The Moyle, The Roper....perhaps it was the humungous moon that turned 'em on but whatever it was I wish it would do it again. Both my staff, Mal and Rob notched up metreys. Rob managed two at The South at 105cm and Mal nudged 108cm from Dundee Beach. Things don't seem to be changing in a hurry either. Reports from The Daly (prior to The Barra Nationals) included 11 over the metre mark from one boat alone! Need I say more.... Corroboree and Hardys Billabong have opened and producing plenty of fish....a good sign for the dry season fishing. On the bluewater, this is prime time for Jewfish so no wonder they are showing at Charles Point Patches and a little further at The Farm. Amongst other catches are oodles of Blue Salmon from within Darwin Harbour. The Tuna are already about also! All in all, this is going to be a ripper season on all fishing fronts...even the Sailfish have showed up early at Sail City and Bowra Shoal wide of Dundee. Yippee!!
