IBSSA <strong>International</strong> Advanced Counter Terrorism Training Course<br />
20 – 24 September 2005, Budapest / Hungary<br />
According to the experiences of the special training courses, held in the last 3 years, IBSSA Headquarters organised<br />
the ADVANCED training seminar of security experts and bodyguards – with special regard to counter-terrorism – between<br />
20 – 24 September 2005 in Budapest / HUNGARY. This special training course was the main event of the year in the region<br />
with the support of the <strong>International</strong> Training Centre of the Hungarian Ministry of Interior, the Hungarian Crime-Prevention<br />
Institute (BM – RBI), the Adyliget Law Enforcement College.<br />
Many qualified bodyguards, high-ranking officers from special units of the police and the army, and even Instructors<br />
of the Adyliget Law Enforcement College participated at the training. The attendees and instructors arrived from Austria,<br />
Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore<br />
and the USA.<br />

The training included the following fields:<br />
- Combat shooting, Firearms techniques and safe use / practical part<br />
- Antiterrorist training, VIP Protection with shooting / Hungarian Ministry of Interior – Intl. Training centre<br />

- Driving techniques with escorting<br />
- Krav Maga / Self defence<br />
- Basic bomb-related studies<br />
On the 20 th September (Tuesday) at 18.00 the Official Opening Ceremony of the training course took place at the<br />
Headquarters of Adyliget Law Enforcement College. Prof. George POPPER, GCKM (HUN) – President of IBSSA welcomed<br />
all participants and introduced the Master Teachers, Instructors of the training and the present high-ranking IBSSA officials<br />
and representatives. After his speech the President called upon dr. András HEGEDŐS (HUN) – Chief of the Crime-<br />
Prevention Department of the Ministry of Interior to hold his speech and open the training course officially. Dr. András<br />
HEGEDŐS attended the Opening Ceremony in order to represent the Main Patron of this event: Dr. Mónika LAMPERTH –<br />
Minister of the Interior.<br />
From 21 st September (Wednesday) until 23 rd September (Friday) the students took part in the following daily programs:<br />
After the early getting up and having breakfast at 7.00 AM the participants were ready to start their training at the<br />
Headquarters of Adyliget Law Enforcement College in 5 groups, with the following lessons in rotation:<br />
- Combat Shooting with Mr. Ottó SIMONYI and Mr. Attila KİVÁGÓ<br />
- Driving techniques and escorting with Mr. János HÜLBER and the 2 rally driver instructors<br />
- VIP protection in practice at the FBI Academy with the assist of Mr. Attila FARKAS and Dr. Miklós VARGA<br />
- Self-defence / Krav Maga with Dr. Rony KLUGER and Mr. Roland LAJOS<br />
- Bomb-related studies with Mr. Lajos TURAI<br />
- Lecture on using the combat baton with also some practice with Mr. Stephen CHEE<br />

The training course was highlighted by the Hungarian ATV and representatives of the media (“Harcmővészek” Magazine,<br />
Detektor Plusz Magazine and the Official IBSSA Magazine: <strong>Bodyguard</strong> & <strong>Security</strong>). An IBSSA official video record was<br />
also taken during the training course by the Official Video and Photographer Team of IBSSA.<br />
After the Instructors’ qualification the official Closing Ceremony of the event took place at the PETNEHÁZY COUNTRY<br />
CLUB. Prof. George POPPER, GCKM – President of IBSSA and Dr. Rony KLUGER (ISR) – General Secretary of IBSSA<br />
handed over the IBSSA Certificates of Participation to the attendees of the training course. The IBSSA Master Teachers’<br />
Team also congratulated all participants.
