Regulations – <strong>BTCC</strong> 2012<br />
1.18.4.c. The <strong>BTCC</strong> Eligibility Scrutineer - Shall be the Eligibility Scrutineer of the Championship and shall<br />
have and exercise all the rights, powers and duties of a Scrutineer specified in the General<br />
Regulations of <strong>MSA</strong> and of the <strong>BTCC</strong> Eligibility Scrutineer in these Sporting Regulations (as<br />
amended from time to time). The <strong>BTCC</strong> Eligibility Scrutineer will work in conjunction with the<br />
<strong>BTCC</strong> Chief Scrutineer and the <strong>BTCC</strong> Technical Commissioner. When working in conjunction<br />
with the <strong>BTCC</strong> Chief Scrutineer and/or the <strong>BTCC</strong> Technical Commissioner the <strong>BTCC</strong> Eligibility<br />
scrutineer shall be a Judge of Fact on all matters relating to eligibility.<br />
1.18.4.d. Whenever possible any eligibility inspection should be by two of the three <strong>BTCC</strong> technical<br />
personnel listed above. They will then be considered as Eligibility Judges of Fact.<br />
1.18.5. The <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk - Shall be the Clerk of the Course of the Championship and shall have and<br />
exercise all the rights, powers and duties of a Clerk of the Course specified in the General<br />
Regulations of <strong>MSA</strong> and of the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk in these Sporting Regulations (as amended from time<br />
to time).<br />
1.18.6. Championship Stewards - Have the rights, powers and duties specified in the General<br />
Regulations of <strong>MSA</strong>. The Championship Stewards shall exercise their function by sitting as a<br />
panel.<br />
1.18.7. The <strong>BTCC</strong> Doctor - Shall be the sole nominated medical delegate for the Championship and shall<br />
work in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer at each circuit.<br />
1.18.8. The <strong>BTCC</strong> Stewards - Shall exercise all of the functions of the Stewards of the Meeting specified<br />
in the General Regulations of the <strong>MSA</strong> (as amended by these Sporting Regulations) and all of<br />
the additional duties and powers specified in these Sporting Regulations. Shall exercise their<br />
judicial function by sitting as a panel with three of the persons named in Sporting Regulation<br />
1.2.6. present and one of the <strong>MSA</strong> Appointed Stewards being Chairman of that panel. In the<br />
event of the absence of a <strong>BTCC</strong> Steward a replacement may be co-opted to act.<br />
2. SPORTING REGULATIONS: JUDICIAL PROCEDURES<br />
2.1. In accordance with Section C of the 2012 <strong>MSA</strong> Yearbook as amended by these Sporting<br />
Regulations in accordance with <strong>MSA</strong> General Regulations C2.2. and C2.2.1.<br />
2.2. Endorsement of Drivers’ Licences:<br />
2.2.1. Should a driver be attributed a total of eight or more penalty points by the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk and/or the<br />
<strong>BTCC</strong> Stewards during the current Championship, the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk may deduct up to a maximum<br />
of 8 Championship points from the total score of that driver even if this results in a minus score.<br />
In addition, the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk will refer the matter to the Administrator who may impose any of the<br />
additional Championship penalties set out in 4.4.<br />
Should a driver subsequently be attributed a total of 12 or more penalty points by the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk<br />
and/or the <strong>BTCC</strong> Stewards during the current Championship, the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk may deduct up to a<br />
maximum of 23 Championship points from the total score of that driver even if this results in a<br />
minus score. In addition, the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk will refer the matter to the Administrator who may<br />
impose any of the additional Championship penalties set out in 4.4.<br />
The deduction of Championship points in this way will only apply to the Drivers’ Championship,<br />
the Independents Trophy for Drivers Championship and will not apply to the<br />
Manufacturers/Constructors or Teams Championship or Independents Teams Championship.<br />
2.3 Any Appeal against the decision of the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk will be heard by the <strong>BTCC</strong> Stewards. Any<br />
Appeal against the decision of the <strong>BTCC</strong> Stewards and/or the Administrator shall be to the MSC<br />
National Court in accordance with the procedures set out in the General Regulations of the <strong>MSA</strong><br />
C7.1.<br />
3. SPORTING REGULATIONS: <strong>CHAMPIONSHIP</strong> RACE MEETINGS & RACE PROCEDURES<br />
3.1. Entries:<br />
3.1.1. The <strong>BTCC</strong> Entry Form is contained within these regulations.<br />
3.1.2. Competitors are responsible for forwarding to the Co-ordinator their correct and complete entries<br />
prior to 12 noon on Friday, February 24th, 2012.<br />
3.1.3. The entry fees for all Rounds are included in the Driver Registration Fee.<br />
3.2. Briefings:<br />
3.2.1. Drivers and team managers (or other appropriate nominated team representatives) will be<br />
required to attend a Drivers Briefing in the Championship Race Centre at 09.00hrs on the Official<br />
Qualifying day unless advised otherwise prior to the Meeting. Failure to attend may result in a<br />
fine a minimum of £150 being imposed by the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk.<br />
