Regulations – <strong>BTCC</strong> 2012<br />

1.2.7. <strong>BTCC</strong> Medical Delegate (“the <strong>BTCC</strong> Doctor”): Dr. Paul Trafford<br />

1.2.8. “<strong>BTCC</strong> Officials” shall mean any of those listed in Sporting Regulations 1.2.1., 1.2.2., 1.2.3. and<br />

1.2.4. and any other Officials appointed by the Administrator and notified to competitors by<br />

Bulletin.<br />

1.3. Competitor Eligibility:<br />

1.3.1. <strong>BTCC</strong> Entrants must be registered for the Championship and must be in possession of a valid<br />

2012 International Entrants Licence (Open or Restricted) issued by the <strong>MSA</strong>. See <strong>MSA</strong> General<br />

Regulation D7.1.12.<br />

1.3.2. Drivers must be registered for the Championship and be in possession of a valid 2012<br />

International Racing Licence (not Historic) and a medical certificate of aptitude. An ASN Visa is<br />

required if the licence is issued by an ASN other than the <strong>MSA</strong>.<br />

1.3.3. Guest Competitors may be permitted to compete in the Championship. Please refer to<br />

Regulation 1.11.1.c and Commercial Undertaking 6.5.4.<br />

1.3.4. Each Entrants Licence and each Drivers Licence must be delivered to the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk at<br />

competitors’ signing-on at the first Meeting at which he/she intends to compete and may be held<br />

by him for the duration of the season. The licences will be returned to the driver and/or entrant<br />

upon request and subject to the driver and/or entrant signing a receipt. Thereafter the competitor<br />

must return any such licence to the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk at competitors’ signing-on at the next Meeting in<br />

which he/she intends to compete.<br />

1.3.5. At any time during a Meeting, the <strong>BTCC</strong> Clerk can require a driver to have a medical examination<br />

by the <strong>BTCC</strong> Doctor or a doctor nominated by him.<br />

1.3.6. Competitors must ensure that they and their cars comply with the conditions of eligibility and<br />

safety throughout practice, Official Qualifying and the Races.<br />

1.4. Registration:<br />

Please also refer to the Technical Regulations at Regulation 5.<br />

1.4.1 All drivers, entrants, teams and manufacturers/constructors must register with TOCA for the<br />

Championship in accordance with Commercial Undertaking 6.5. The completed Registration<br />

Form with the Registration Fee must be received by the Co-ordinator prior to 12 noon on Friday,<br />

February 24th 2012. The Administrator has the right at his/her absolute discretion to accept or<br />

reject any registration for the Championship received after Monday, February 24th, 2012 upon<br />

such terms as he/she thinks fit. Applicants will be notified whether or not they have been<br />

accepted as entrants to Championship by Friday, March 10th, 2012, to a maximum of 32.<br />

Drivers who are accepted into the Championship after Friday, March 10th, 2012, will be classified<br />

as Late Registrations and may incur a 20 per cent entry fee surcharge at the Administrator’s<br />

discretion.<br />

Any subsequent change to an Entrant's registered car during the course of the Championship is<br />

by application to and approval of the Administrator.<br />

At circuits where reserves are nominated due to Track Licence restrictions in the number of<br />

starters Late Registrations who are nominated as reserves may be permitted to take part in all<br />

<strong>BTCC</strong> Free Practice and Official Qualifying sessions (subject to Track Licence restrictions) but<br />

will only take up their grid position if a competitor (registered prior to Friday, March 10th, 2012)<br />

officially withdraws from any of the Races. In the event of a competitor being unable to take a restart<br />

of a Race following a red flag, the number of nominated reserves equal to the number of<br />

official retirements may take up positions at the rear of the respective class grid only at the restart.<br />

In both cases, reserves will be chosen in order of their Qualifying position.<br />

1.4.2. Registration numbers will be the permanent competition numbers for the Championship.<br />

Numbers 1-10 inclusive will be allocated to the top ten drivers from the 2011 <strong>MSA</strong> British Touring<br />

Car Championship. Any of these numbers not used by a 2011 driver will only be re-allocated at<br />

the sole discretion of the Administrator.<br />

All other numbers will be allocated at the Co-ordinator’s discretion.<br />

1.4.3.a. A <strong>BTCC</strong> Medical Information Sheet (contained within this Regulations Booklet) must be<br />

completed and returned to the <strong>BTCC</strong> Doctor upon registration.<br />

1.4.3.b. Drivers must inform the <strong>BTCC</strong> Doctor if:<br />

i) The driver is involved in any serious accident at any test, event or otherwise at any venue.<br />

ii) There is a significant change in the general physical or mental condition of the driver.<br />

iii) The driver is hospitalised for any reason.<br />

iv) Drugs are taken for any medical condition that has not been previously notified.<br />
