Central <strong>cord</strong> syndrome<br />
• Greater motor weakness in the upper<br />
extremities than in the lower extremities with<br />
varying degree of sensory loss.<br />
• Somatotopically organized corticospinal tract,<br />
with the leg fibers lateral <strong>and</strong> the arm fibers<br />
medial in the <strong>cord</strong><br />
• Involvement of the anterior horn cells in the<br />
necrotic center of the <strong>cord</strong>.
