Messages from the Executive Board SECRETARY Lloyd Chen Hello CNH! Throughout October, I received the opportunity to meet many of you through Region Training Conferences. I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as I did as the amount of spirit for service was inspiring. I also hope the information and various workshops presented were helpful. Fall Rally North was a blast, and I look forward to attending Fall Rally South! In addition, Key Club Week is coming up! November 5-9 is a special duration to celebrate Key Club and all of the wonderful opportunities it provides. The theme for Monday is “Show your K in every way”. Basically, publicize and promote Key Club. Tuesday is “Kudos to the Key players”. This day is about thanking the supporters and advisors who make Key Club possible. Wednesday represents “Connect the Ks” in which Key Clubbers associate with the Kiwanis family including Circle K, Builders Club, and Aktion clubs. For Thursday, “Bring a friend to Key Club”; this is a day for you to introduce Key Club to a friend or two. And Friday “Your way” is the day for clubs to focus on a project and integrate activities from other Key Club days. Remember that our district goals are raising $154,000 for Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), reaching 46,000 members, and serving 800,000 hours of community service. Together, we can make a difference and achieve our goals that give us a million reasons to serve. Secretaries, continue keeping up the great work, communicating with your Lieutenant Governor, Kiwanis Sponsor, and club board. Remember this is the time to work with your club’s treasurer in order to create a club roster. Continue to complete your Monthly Report Form in a timely manner as accurately as you can. Your job is crucial not only to the success of the club you serve, but also to our District and Key Club as a whole as we are able to document our progress in reaching our district goals. Enjoy this month of Thanksgiving, fun, and service! In service and friendship, Lloyd Chen District Secretary compiled by the 2012-2013 CNH Executive Board TREASURER Cannon Joyce Hello CNH BEEs! November is finally here! As the weather starts to change remember to stay warm and healthy. This month has a lot of activities and things going on. I hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving and realizes that this will be a great time to give back to the community. If you need help thinking of any fundraisers or want to start a November Thanksgiving event, let me know (: Also remember that this month dues will be sent to Key Club International. Make sure you pay your club dues and give your information to the club secretary, so they can process the dues by November 20th to meet the December 1st dues deadline for ontime status and be eligible for the retention award. Thank you for all of your patience with the membership update center and with the transition between the old and new process. I also want to thank all of the clubs that have been pushing to fundraise for the Pediatric Trauma Program and all of the hard work you are doing. Remember that if we continue to work hard we will be able to reach our goal of $154,000 for PTP. If you have anything you want to talk about please call, email, or contact me in any way and I will be happy to help you with anything. CNH District Treasurer, Cannon Joyce The Official California-Nevada-Hawai’i District Newsletter | November 2012 Page 3
