University signage st<strong>and</strong>ards are<br />
established by University Planning<br />
Design <strong>and</strong> Construction Services in<br />
order to provide visual identity <strong>and</strong><br />
uniformity throughout campus, <strong>and</strong><br />
these st<strong>and</strong>ards include both exterior<br />
<strong>and</strong> interior signage.<br />
All major interior <strong>and</strong> exterior<br />
identifying signage should include<br />
university identifiers. In most instances,<br />
this does not include the Invent the<br />
Future tagline. The st<strong>and</strong>ard restrictions<br />
on use of the “VT” designation are<br />
waived for signage where space<br />
limitations preclude the use of “<strong>Virginia</strong><br />
<strong>Tech</strong>,” such as on highway directional<br />
signage.<br />
