Notes for Artabazos I Satrap <strong>of</strong> Dascylium:<br />

Artabazos ( altpers. Rtuvazdah; Greek ??t?ßa???, † after 460 BC), son <strong>of</strong> Pharnakes <strong>of</strong> the<br />

family Pharnakiden , was a commander in the Persian <strong>Great</strong> King Xerxes .<br />

During the Persian train (480 BC) against the alliance <strong>of</strong> free Greek poleis ( Hellenic Federation ),<br />

he commanded by the Parthians and Chorasmians provided troops.<br />

After the Persians lost 480 BC Battle <strong>of</strong> Salamis , he accompanied the departing Xerxes I <strong>of</strong><br />
