Phoebe Stabler was a very successful London sculptor
who sold Doulton the reproduction rights for several
models. She exhibited her work at the Royal Academy
and the Paris Salon and was equally at home with
monumental sculpture, garden statuary and small scale
figures in bronze, lead, stone and ceramic. According Phoebe Stabler at work
to Doulton’s first figure catalog, PPhoebe
modeled the Picardy Peasant in the open air
