UC Berkeley and Adam who is a junior at Cathedral
Catholic High School. I am currently the operations
manager of Florexpo, LLC. - the largest distributor
of cut flowers on the west coast. We have bouquet
manufacturing and distribution facilities in
Carlsbad, CA., Monterey Bay, CA. and Portland,
OR. The product we distribute in the US is grown
on over 50 farms located throughout Colombia.
We own and operate these farms and employ more
than 11,000 local residents. Although I don’t visit
the Boston area very often, I was able to compete in
the Boston Marathon in 1990. Other than church,
family and work obligations, sports have consumed
most of my waking hours. I was fortunate enough
to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Jack Murphy
Stadium prior to a game between the Padres and
Expos in 1995. I met Bill Russell at the NCAA
Basketball Championship game between Florida
and UCLA last year.
Last August, I chaperoned my youngest son Adam
and his teammates on an international soccer
tournament in England. Adam’s high school soccer
team played in the league championship game on
3/3/07 but unfortunately lost 1-0. In any event, I
have been blessed in every way since my shy and
awkward teenage years at Cardinal Spellman High
School. However, upon reflection, these were some
of the happiest times of my life. I can only hope and
pray that my fellow classmates and their families have
been as fortunate and as blessed since we graduated
just a few years ago! God bless.” From your classmate,
Tom –We were very impressed when we heard that
Tom O’Donnell’s son plays “international “ soccer.
We’ll follow his successes. We wish him luck in
his career. debra Beary ain has retired from
her nursing duties in the United States Air Force.
She is now teaching and sharing her expertise at a
community college in Nevada. We think Vegas is a
great place to hold our next reunion. Jane Condon
is just about booked solid as she continues to
showcase her comedy routine at clubs and events in
the Greenwich/ New York City areas. We have seen
her “hilarious act “ up close and personal and believe
you me, her show is one that shouldn’t be missed! If
you want to see her perform or better yet, book her
to perform at your next gathering, you can check out
her schedule at myspace.com/JaneCondon. Perhaps
if we hold our next reunion at Debra Beary’s and
we hire Jane as a Las Vegas headliner, we can have
the “all time best party ever”. Food for thought…
Speaking of locations to hold our next party, Paula
macdonald Baker has retired after 21 years of
teaching and will be purchasing a home on Marco
Island. Beach, tennis, and a few cocktails....I think
that sounds like a plan. Or, maryJo mcmahon
Curtis ,who has moved to Holyoke, is continuing to
renovate a huge old Victorian with lots of room. She
states that if you help her decorate, she’ll provide the
party space!
We had lots of responses from our last “Tradition
“ update. None was more funny than the feedback
we got from John Goff. Apparently, we had some
“mis”information regarding a Championship title won
by the Nauset Regional High School Hockey team in
alumni news
Class Notes
2004. Seems we gave credit to marybeth o’heir’s
husband Travis Chandler for the job well done. Travis
is a talented musician (whom we also could book for
our next big gala) and founder of the Travis Chandler
Philharmonic Orchestra and club WOW and our own
dear John was the winning coach! John, if you checked
our past writings, we emphatically stated that if we
did not hear from our classmates, we would make up
stuff about them. We just began with you!! And it just
took a few penned words to hear from John after 38
years. We are proud to hear that John and his wife
Brenda are living the good life on old Cape Cod in
the town of Orleans. John and his son are partners in
Goff Brothers Construction Co. and John’s daughter,
Jacquelin, was married in March. John shared much
more info with us, but we are going to save some
for our next Tradition article. Happy to report that
marybeth oheir Chandler and Jane Condon were
able to reconnect with each other after many years.
All made possible through this outlet. We spoke with
martha mathison, who is well. Check out her website
www.leftbankgallery.com. Caroline Chicarelli was
really excited when talking about her role in expanding
technology in the classroom. She sounds great! And
richard Cox has retired from public service and is
now working for the pharmaceutical firm Galxo.
The first response was from Donna Fonseca. She
has been living in Charleston, South Carolina since
1974. She has been teaching kindergarten for 22
years. She is now working on her Doctorate in psychology.
Donna is hoping for a reunion or gathering
in the summer months. Bob Milk writes that he and
his wife, Peggy, live in Glen Allen, VA, just outside
of Richmond, VA. Both his daughters are married
but no grandchildren yet. Bob is a top-ranked cribbage
player and travels around the country playing
in tournaments. Look for Bob tooling around in his
car with VA license plate “R MILK “ around New
England one or two weekends a month for New
England cribbage tournaments. He is working as a
consultant to the State of New Hampshire on their
new Medicaid system. He would love to be in touch
with some of his fellow classmates. So contact him
at RobertMilk@inbox.com or by cell (804) 337-2171.
Besty Blunt lives in Western Mass and works at the
Department of Microbiology at UMass Amherst. In
her “spare time” she tends to her family of 70 cows.
She has been in touch with Dave Mapp and wonders
if anyone has heard from Stephen Kutzy recently.
I ran into Joe Kelly at the New England Home Show
in early March. Neither of us could quite figure out
how it is that we’re turning 50 this year! Happy
birthday to all of you and watch for those AARP
invitations in the mail. I’d love to hear what the rest
of you are up to - please drop me a line or give me a
