32 THE SKY-LARK.
O she was a canty quean,
And weel cou'd dance the Highland walloch,
How happy I, had she been mine,
Or I'd been Roy of Aldivallach.
Roy's wife, &c.
Her hair sae fair, her e'en sae clear,
Her wee bit mou' so sweet and bonny,
To me she ever will be dear,
Tho' she's for ever left her Johnny.
Roy's wife, &c.
But Roy's age is three times mine,
I'd think his days will nae be mony,
And when the carl's dead and gone.
She'll may be rue and tak her Johnny.
Roy's wife, &c.
CATCH.—POOR JOHNNY'S DEAD.
Poor Johnny's dead! I hear his knell,
Bim, bim, bim, bim, borne bell,
Bome! borne !
bim, borne, bell.
The bell doth toll, O may his soul
la Heav'n for ever dwell
