Distal Femur Plate 4.5 mm
Distal Femur Platte 4.5 mm
Plaque pour femur distal 4.5 mm
Indication: Anatomical distal femur
bone plates are designed to be used
for reducing fractures of the distal
femur with or without involvement of
the joint. The anatomical bone plate
features show the following important
factors to osteosynthesis as;
permit a stable fixation of the small
proximal and distal fragments. They
consider the various physiological
stability factors of distal spongiosa
and meta-to diaphyseal fractures.
They are curved and twisted to
conform to the nature shape of the
proximal and distal bones areas.
They simplify reduction in case of
extended fractures as their anterior
surface is contoured to minimize
tissue irritation.
Plate details: The shape of distal
femur bone plate is particularly well
suited for accommodating the
ventral convex curve of the normal
femur, as well as its specific twisting.
The plate thickness is reduced
towards the distal direction in accordance
with the different stability
relationship of diaphysis to metaphysis.
The pre-formed shape of the
plate requires that a separate plate to
be used for righ and left femur.
Plate thickness: 5.0 mm
Plate width: 16.0 mm
Head width: 25.5 mm
Hole spacing: 18.0 mm
Screws to be used: Head of plate
accept 6.5 mm cancellous screws.
Plate shaft accepts 4.5 mm cortical
screws. The screw holes into distal
and are placed so as to allow
cancellous screw to be placed in
different directions. Two small holes
at the very end of the plate are for
temporary fixation with kirschner
wires. An oval hole in the proximal
part of the plate permit fixation with
an excentrically or medially placed
cortical screw while allowing enough
room for application of a compression
device.
