April proved to be quite a social month for our families. First,
Opening Day with the Blessing of the Fleet was a wonderful
afternoon. Congratulations to Steve & Lesa Stack’s “Stack
Shack” for their 1st place prize for Best Dressed Powerboat.
Gilligan’s Island has never been so much fun to watch! Thanks
to Wendi & Jeff Fairchild’s agreeing to wear sombreros and moustaches
to help “Mucho Gusto” win the prize for Best Dressed Sailboat!
The Easter Brunch was phenomenal, with Big Billy the Clown’s magic
show & balloons, the Easter Egg Hunt where more than 1,400 eggs were
found, and the Easter Bunny’s appearance. What a delightful day thanks to
our wonderful PYC staff and tireless volunteers who made it all happen!
NEW DATE NIGHT WITH BABYSITTING
Then to conclude the month, we had our fi rst of hopefully many-to-come
“Date Nights” complete with babysitters at the Club. Be sure to watch your
email and for fl yers at the club announcing future Date Night events.
For the month of May, we are working on another Family Fun dinner so
look for an email for additional information as this develops. As always, if
you have any suggestions for other events (family-friendly or otherwise),
please email me at lynharr3@cox.net or call me at 261-5971. Thanks for
your involvement!
JIM & LINDA OYLER
Another raft-up and another dire weather
prediction. An expected 30 knot blow and a 15
degree drop in temperature did not deter 7 boats
from enjoying the March raft-up in Little Sabine.
We all arrived before the cold front and took extra
precautions with our anchors. Many others arrived by land yacht bringing
a delightful array of side dishes to compliment the roast pork. A big thank
you goes to Pensacola Beach Yacht Club for their warm hospitality. The
weather did change dramatically. The wind increased as the temperature
decreased but Sunday morning found all 7 boats riding safely at anchor. By
all accounts, the pub crawl was a rousing success and all crawlers survived
without incident. Sunday brunch brought even more fun and camaraderie,
not to mention more wonderful food. This was a great raft-up in spite of the
weatherman.
MAY RAFT UP TO PORT ST. JOE
