The Përsqop Fortress is located south of
Tirana, near Petrela castle. Perched atop
the Vila Mountain, this fortress may have
once been used by the inhabitants of
Petrela Castle. The construction of the
initial structure appears to have been
initiated by the Illyrians and eventually
expanded by the Romans. Remnants of
an aqueduct are situated to the northeast
of the fortification.
