35 Colonel Lewis Tremayne of <strong>Heligan</strong> chr 1 Sep 1619 Mevagissey,died 1685 Col in the Royal<br />

Army, commanded a Regt.of foot for the King, Lieut. Governor of St Mawes Castle. Will 7 Nov 1684 pro. 3<br />

May 1686, Archd. Ct. Cornwall, marr Mary (b1625 d1701) daughter and co-heiress of John Carew of<br />

Penwarne. This John Carew was styled the “ One handed” from having lost his right hand at the siege of<br />

Ostend in 1601. He afterwards settled as a Merchant in Mevagissey.<br />

They had the following children:<br />

i Mary b abt 1645 marr William Williams of Treworgy 12 Dec 1681 Probus,<br />

named in her father’s Will, living 1684.<br />

ii Honor b abt 1646 died before 1684.<br />

iii John bap 16 Sep 1647 Mevagissey>>>>>>>>>>>><br />

iv Lewis bap 11 Jun 1650 Mevagissey, named in his father’s Will. Lost at sea.(no issue)<br />

v Charles b 1650>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.<br />

vi Richard b abt 1651 died 1675.(no issue)<br />

vii George bap 2 May 1654 Mevagissey,died 1680. (no issue)<br />

viii Sampson bap 5 Aug 1655 Mevagissey,died 1671. (no issue)<br />

ix Oliver bap 9 Jun1659 Mevagissey, died 1687.(no issue)<br />

36 Capt PhilipTremayne b abt 1622 marr Mary daughter of Christopher Worthivall of Worthivall 4 Jun<br />

1667 at Probus, named in the Will of his brother Lewis living 1684.Capt in his brothers Regt.<br />

They had the following child;<br />

i Philip bap 13 Jul 1668 Probus.<br />
