Dear Friends,<br />
Welcome to <strong>the</strong> 2012 season. This is an exciting time to be with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Symphony</strong><br />
orchestra whe<strong>the</strong>r you are coming along to listen, to play or to conduct.<br />
There is movement at <strong>the</strong> studio: from Ferry Road, which was <strong>the</strong> orchestra’s home for<br />
decades, we move into a magnificent new studio at South Bank, into <strong>the</strong> core of <strong>the</strong> cultural<br />
centre of Brisbane. With open rehearsals, education concerts and new series we will throw open<br />
our new doors to young and old.<br />
There is movement in <strong>the</strong> orchestra: during <strong>the</strong> past five years <strong>the</strong> orchestra has acquired<br />
twenty inspiring new members. This movement brings about new energy, new ideas, and new<br />
relationships. For me it has been an absolute pleasure to work with this superb orchestra.<br />
The <strong>music</strong>ians of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Queensland</strong> <strong>Symphony</strong> orchestra share my enthusiasm for great <strong>music</strong>,<br />
enthusiasm that inspires dedication, that produces scintillating live performances.<br />
