43. Virginia Tobatha 9 Harlan (James White 8 , Joseph 7 , Jesse 6 , John 5 , George 4 , Michael 3 Harland, James 2 ,
William 1 ) was born 07 Apr 1831 in Virginia, and died 18 Oct 1909 in La Grange, Oldham Co, KY. She married
George A. Thompson Abt. 1866 in Virginia. He was born Abt. 1828 in Tennessee, and died in Bowling Green,
Warren Co., KY.
Notes for Virginia Tobatha Harlan:
Virginia and George Thompson were married in Virgiania. He was a Confederate soldier who was wounded and
taken into the home of James White Harlan to be nursed back to health. He fell in love with Tabby, as she was
called, and they were married and went back to Tennessee. Later they moved to Kentucky where he died and is
buried in Bowling Green, where they live in or around. When George Thompson died, Tobitha came to
Anchorage, Kentucky to live with there daughter Katherine Thompson and her husband Ernest Corbin. When she
died she was buried in the Valley of Rest at La Grange, Kentucky. The tombstone is no longer there, but she is in
the same plot as Thomas Samuel Harlan.
The 1900 Warren Co., KY census indicates that Virginia had a total of 4 children, all of whom where living in
1900.

Notes for George A. Thompson:
The 1900 Warren Co., KY census lists George as being three years older than Virginia which would make him
born about 1828. The census lists him as being 59 years old in 1900 which would make him being born about
1841. The date of Virginia's birth should here is probably correct since it came out of the Harlan family bible.
That would mean that George was older than indicated in the 1900 census.

Johnson Co., Kansas both census list Katherine's middle initial as "M". The 1880 Wilson Co. TN census
lists it as "J".
