belly granular; a large patch of coarse granules on the posterior<br />

aspect of the thighs, the remaining skin of the legs being quite smooth;<br />

an external vocal sac at the center of the throat, the loose skin<br />

terminating in a transverse fold across the chest between the arms.<br />

Dimensions: Snout to vent, 30 mm.; width of head, 11 mm.;<br />

diameter of eye, 4 mm.; diameter of tympanum, 2.5 mm.; foreleg<br />

from axilla, 21 mm. ; hindleg from vent, 52 mm. ; vent to heel, 31 mm.<br />

Color (in alcohol): Body color olive-gray to drab-gray above and<br />

below; an irregular clove-brown interorbital bar; canthus rostralis,<br />

upper border of ear, center of back, and lateral regions with a more<br />

or less coarsely reticulated pattern of clove-brown; upper surfaces of<br />

arms and legs with irregular smaller spots of clove-brown, wliich do<br />

not make a definite cross-barred pattern except on the forearm;<br />

lower surfaces immaculate except for some spots around the edge of<br />

the lower jaw.<br />

Variations.—The largest frog, U.S.N.M. No. 74959, measures 33<br />

mm. from snout to vent. The yomig have very wide heads in pro-
