IHI Compact Track Loaders Two Large Cab Models from the Blue-Colored Japanese Brand IHI introduced its first compact track loader in late 2007. After many years of customer requests, IHI decided to take on the task in early 2003. Over the course of several years of studying the market size, features, benefits and competitive models, the CL35, a 7,800-lb track loader was introduced. A few years after the CL35 introduction, the CL45, a 10,000lb track loader, was added, broadening the line of compact track loaders even more. IHI/Compact Excavator Sales LLC has been the sole distributor in North and South America for both units. At this time, IHI offers two compact track loader models. These units offer a contractor increased productivity and savings through superior pushing, excellent digging performance and reduced downtime, says the company. The CL35 and CL45 both boast a 10 to 15 percent larger cab than the nearest competitor, says the company, increasing cab comfort with reduced fatigue. These two IHI compact track loader models range from 67 to 83 hp with widths available in 68 or 72 in. on the CL35 to 74 in. on the CL45. IHI designed the undercarriage on both the CL35 and CL45 so that a contractor could pick between two sizes of tracks without having to change undercarriage parts (reducing operating cost). Simplified maintenance with less downtime is achieved with IHI’s unique segmented sprockets system, notes the company. Segmented sprockets allow quick and easy replacement of the rubber tracks and sprockets. An on-board computer monitoring system has been incorporated on both units for easy diagnosis for any problem that may occur. Both units are equipped with a full tilt-up cab for instant access to all engine components and computer monitoring system. Standard on both units, the ROPS open canopy can be easily converted to an enclosed cab by installing glass panels and a door. To regulate engine output, the ECO mode button is standard equipment for both the CL35 and CL45. A simple push of the ECO button will reduce the engine speed to 1,500 rpms for the current engine speed revolution. Other standard equipment on both models includes a universal quick-attach and self-leveling bucket. All attachments that a contractor may already possess for a skid steer will fit on both models of the IHI compact track loaders. Demonstrate a unit and test the unit to the max. Also, consider ease of operation. Does the unit click with you? Make sure the service and support at the end of the sale is readily available. JCB Compact Track Loaders The English Backhoe Innovator Offers Seven One-Armed Loaders While JCB entered the skid steer market in 1993, the company didn’t begin producing compact track loaders until 2001. In 2007, JCB launched the Series II skid steer and compact track loader product line. The compact track loaders were built with the same basic design as their skid steer counterparts, with the primary difference being the use of tracks instead of wheels. By the third quarter of 2010, JCB was producing three tracked machines. In November 2010, JCB launched its New Generation product line, which included large-platform skid steers and compact track loaders. In March of 2012, the line expanded with the addition of small-platform skid steers and compact track loaders. JCB’s New Generation product line includes four large-platform tracked models (the 225T, 260T, 300T and 320T) and three small-platform machines (the 150T, 190T and 205T) for a total of seven compact track loaders offering vertical or radial lift. These machines weigh from 1,500 to 3,200 lbs.
